Monday, September 17

  • Around 40 of the city’s best chefs, distillers, restaurateurs, and food artisans will take over the Franklin Institute from 7:30pm-10:30pm for Blue Plate Special, a culinary celebration and fundraiser for the PA Blue Victory Fund, which is aiming to help turn Pennsylvania blue in the next few elections.

Tuesday, September 18

  • Join Brickwall Tavern every Tuesday at 8pm for Quizaholics for a chance to win a Brickwall $50 Gift Card. They can’t wait to push a bunch of “smart asses against each other in the ultimate competition of useless knowledge!”
  • The last Beaucycled waterfront DIY Succulent Workshop will be held at PHS UCity Square from 6:30pm-8:00pm. Enjoy great drinks and food while learning the basics of planting and caring for your very own succulent arrangement.

Thursday, September 20

  • Soulful vibes fill the air Wednesdays this fall at Blues, Booze & Brews, with local blues bands in Dilworth Park from 5pm-7pm. This week: Hannah Taylor and the Rekardo Lee Trio will be performing.
  • David Byrne brings his awe-inspiring American Utopia Tour to the Mann Center at 8pm with special guests tune-yards.

Friday, September 21

  • Philadelphia’s annual Run to Work PHL returns, challenging you to lace up your sneakers to literally run to work.

Saturday, September 22

  • Wanderlust—The World’s Only Mindful Triathlon—brings the community together from 7:30am-3:00pm at the Philadelphia Navy Yard for a 5K run/walk, a dj-powered yoga session, and guided meditation in your local park.
  • Come to Warehouse on Watts from 9am-12pm to participate in Daybreaker, an early morning dance movement in 25 cities around the world, starting with a one hour yoga and fitness experience and then dance for two hours before work.
  • For the 10th year in a row, Oktoberfest will be held in front of Brauhaus Schmitz where guests can purchase German beers and food, listen to live Oom-pah music, and enjoy German dancers and more.
  • In order to celebrate their 13th Year Anniversary, Philly AIDS Thrift is putting on a fun-filled Block Party, including DJ Robert Drake, craft vendors, a balloon artist, a pie eating contest, and a dunk tank. See you at 710 S 5th St. from 12pm-6pm.
  • Overcoming Odds presents the Path to Resilience, a day of workshops focusing on what it takes to become resilient while networking with like-minded individuals and insightful speakers. It will take place at Temple University Howard Gittis Student Center from 5:30-11:30pm.
  • In honor of the Reading Terminal’s 125th anniversary, Taste of the Market will highlight elite local chefs with free shopping and cooking demonstrations happening at the market all weekend.
  • Downtown Disco Philadelphia is exactly what it sounds like, an enormous annual DISCO dance party for Philly. Saturday Night Fever returns one night a year at the 23rd Street Armory from 8pm- 12am.
  • Comedian, actor, director and producer Martin Lawrence brings his LIT AF Tour to Philadelphia. Lawrence stars as the high-powered host of 2018’s hottest comedy event from 7:30pm-11:30pm, presenting a fire lineup of comedians.
