With Made in America coming up, this week is all about live music. Plus, it’s officially September and there’s plenty of football back in town. Monday, August 27
  • Taste the best of summer at Jamonera’s special tomato-focused tapas tasting menu. This ten-plate meal features gazpacho, heirloom salad, tomato sofrito, and more. Even dessert is tomato-focused!
  • City Fitness is throwing its first Commotion party at The Fillmore. With three DJs, you’ll be moving all night to the sounds of dance-pop. Leading the movements are celebrity fitness instructors, while participants rotate between spin bikes, HIIT, and an uptempo dance session. Ticket proceeds go towards Connor Barwin’s MTWB Foundation.
Tuesday, August 28
  • The West Philadelphia Orchestra takes over Franky Bradley’s for a performance that will keep you entertained all night. $7 gets you covered and into the party that starts at 9 p.m.
  • Science After Hours returns to the Franklin Institute for the monthly all-adult 21+ event. This month’s theme is Don’t Try this at Home, so expect daring scientific demonstrations. Be warned: the scale of some have never been seen before!
Wednesday, August 29
  • Hurry, and visit Photo Pop Philly* for the last Snap Before You Sip of the summer! Use the discount code: SNAPB4USIP to get $5 off your ticket from 3-5 p.m. on the final Wednesday at the pop-up.
  • Mingle with like-minded ladies at Tech Women Network’s second Summer Soiree. Meet at Old City’s Royal Boucherie for an evening with tech-savvy peers.
Thursday, August 30
  • The NFL preseason continues as the reigning Philadelphia Eagles take on the NY Jets at Lincoln Financial Field. Show the world who #BleedsGreen harder!
  • Puppapalooza at the Pier is presented by Pennsylvania SPCA and Philadelphia Phillies. Catch some of your favorite players behind the bar at Morgan’s Pier as they raise money to support animal welfare.
Friday, August 31
  • Grammy-nominated Eric Roberson from New Jersey comes to Philadelphia for a smooth night of music. Catch this R&B/neo-soul artist at World Cafe Live starting at 8 p.m.
  • Crane Arts hosts the BB9 Art Show, an all-black party, celebrating the works of African Americans achieving success in the arts. The exhibition will celebrate Jet Magazine, plus influencers such as Solange Knowles, Yara Shahidi, Ava Duvernay, and others.
Saturday, September 1
  • Made in America is finally here! The biggest festival in Philadelphia brings headliners like Kendrick Lamar, Nicki Minaj, Post Malone and Miguel, along with hometown artists Meek Mill and Diplo.
  • Kiss n’ Grind hosts The Made In America After Party with DJ Questlove and host Yameen Allworld with Vikter Duplaix and Royale. Come party at Stratus Lounge rooftop until 2 a.m. and don’t miss the Homesick Philly lounge, presented by Visit Philly.
  • If MIA is not your scene, head to Northern Liberties or Fishtown for intimate band shows. Honeytiger, Secret Nudist Friends, FayRoy play at Ortlieb’s starting at 7 p.m. 6ix 8ight Presents: Turntables + Alcohol with Matthew Law, DJ AMH at Kung Fu Necktie.  
  • If you’re more interested in sports, don’t miss the city rivalry between Temple vs. Villanova as they both start their football season with this face off.
Sunday, September 2
  • Don’t miss Made in America Day 2!
  • The party’s not over after the festival. Head to NOTO with special guest Ty Dolla $ign at one of the premiere nightclubs in the city.  
  • Take a moment to relax and set your intentions as summer comes to an end. Attend yoga and meditation with Jade Javon on the Cira Green rooftop. BYO mat/towel and an open mind to this evening sequence.
Monday, September 4 – Happy Labor Day!
  • Cycle for SCI hosts Bok to School Beer Fest at Bok Bar to support for spinal cord Injury research and quality of life programs. Tickets includes local beers, elevated after-school snacks, a raffle ticket to win prizes from Crime & Punishment Brewing Co., La Cabra Brewing, Urban Village, and more.
