On Tuesday, June 12, Moshulu on the Delaware River hosted the official Le Dîner en Blanc – Philadelphia Preview Party. Once aboard, event organizers announced the seventh edition of Le Dîner en Blanc in the City of Brotherly Love will be held on Thursday, August 16, 2018. This year, the event will welcome 5,500 guests and is on track to be the largest Dîner en Blanc in the country for the second year in a row.
The highlight of the evening was the elegant and elaborate table display contest. 16 table decorators competed in the “Passport to Le Dîner En Blanc” table decorating contest. Each represented a sampling of the close to 80 cities around the world where Dîner En Blanc events will be held this year. A panel of judges named Lori Thomson the 2018 Grand Prize winner for her stunning Nairobi, Kenya table. While Marie Fritz, a Diner en Blanc Philadelphia Table leader since 2012, took home the People’s Choice award for her incredibly detailed London-themed table.
Feast Your Eyes Catering was also on board and provided samples of their 2018 Dîner en Blanc catering menu. Guests browsed an expansive selection of vendors. This included Ellelauri Boutique, Tiffany Arey Millinery, Hats in the Belfry, Tie Bar, and Stella and Dot.
