As Easter – and hopefully nor’easters – end, we celebrate the beginning of April and Greek Easter this week! Look forward to plenty of events this new month has to offer. Monday, April 2
  • Showcasing the work of over 30 innovative game designers, Game Masters: The Exhibition! at The Franklin Institute takes visitors on an interactive journey inside their favorite video games throughout the ages.
  • For 10 days only, Eastern State Penitentiary presents its sixth annual Pop-Up Museum! This year’s theme is “Walls Make Good Neighbors,” celebrating the one-century birthday of the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. Visitors will see connections between the ancient prison and the colorful neighborhood that eventually came to surround it.
Tuesday, April 3
  • Head to one of the jazziest restaurants in Philly: South on Broad Street. They’re hosting Jazz In The Digital Age Series, a series of presentations that raise the awareness of various organizations and platforms to inform the Philadelphia jazz community.
  • Support your Philly home teams as the Philadelphia Sixers play against the  Brooklyn Nets at Wells Fargo Center. Come out for a night of fun for the whole family!
Wednesday, April 4
  • Come out to Manayunk Brewery for Manayunk’s Got Talent, a night of musical talent competition to be held every week at 7 p.m., starting today and ending June 6.
  • Join The Trestle Inn and PARC on the first Wednesday of every month in support of Philadelphia’s pit bulls at PITTIE PARTY with Saved Me Adoption Center! Adopt a furry friend from one of the three rescue partners: PAWS, Saved Me, or PSPCA.
Thursday, April 5
  • The Phillies Home Opener at Citizen Banks Park is finally here! Come out for the 3:05 p.m. game to cheer on the Phillies as they play the Miami Marlins.
  • All are welcome to Millennial Media Makers of Color: #BlackHistoryUntold with Sofiya Ballin. She will be interviewing Pen & Pencil award winner, Sincerely Syreeta, on journalism, liberation in the media, Blackness, and more.
Friday, April 6
  • Spend First Friday at the new Idle Hands: A Solo Exhibition by Evan Lovett. This collection of multi-dimensional aerosol portraits is dedicated to the makers and enthusiasts who inspire the artist. Beer provided by Roy-Pitz Brewing Company, catering by Tandoor Philly, and entertainment provided by Get Up.
  • Philly Slam League will host various poetry slams from Philadelphia-area high school students at the Free Library of Philadelphia.
  • Stand Against Hate First Friday Exhibition is a special art installation aimed at reminding people that they are loved despite age, race, gender, national origin, religion, physical or mental disability, medical condition or sexual orientation. Pairs of sneakers designed by different artists will be auctioned off with proceeds going to ArtWell.
Saturday, April 7
  • RAM Racing’s 5th annual Hot Chocolate 15K/5K Road Race, benefiting the Make-A-Wish Foundation, begins at 7 a.m. Known as “the sweetest race in town,” race swag and sweet treats await after the finish line.
  • Temple University’s PRSSA chapter invites everyone to their fifth annual professional development conference, TU Invitational. This all-day event brings together industry professionals to connect with college students and build their network.
  • Head to La Colombe Fishtown Cafe to learn the ins and outs of all things ‘za. Head Baker, John McGrath is hosting a from-scratch pizza workshop. All class participants can enjoy 30% off their bar tab!
  • The MANNAFeast on the Main Line is a fun-filled night of dinner and dancing for a good cause! Test your luck with the Wall of Wine and a special silent auction.
  • The Kimmel Center presents Jerry Seinfeld, one of America’s top comedians. Seinfeld will be will be performing his laugh out loud signature stand-up routine.
Sunday, April 8
