My Perfect Day in Philadelphia: Jasmine D.’s Guide

Jasmine Daniels, PR Assistant:

I was born in Philadelphia, but I lived in Collegeville for most of my years. Though it’s not too far from the city, I never got a true taste of what Philadelphia was all about. As a senior at Immaculata University studying Fashion Merchandising, I knew the city element was essential for my internship. At Philly PR Girl, I’ve had exposure and experience in the world of PR but also the culture and excitement of my hometown.

I Like Big Cups and I Cannot Lie

For most people, coffee is a great pick-me-up to get the day started… but for someone who isn’t a huge coffee drinker, Saxbys still knows how to put a smile on a girl’s face. As long as I have a cup of hot chocolate in the morning, my day is already off to a great start. The hot cocoa from Saxbys on Chestnut Street is the best I have ever had, ever. It’s super rich and creamy.

Dinner in Old City

I had never tried Afghan food before but when I was introduced to Ariana Fine Afghan Cuisine, I instantly fell in love. This hidden gem, located in the heart of Old City, serves some of the finest Afghan dishes. The authenticity will rock your tastebuds. For starters, the Samosa and the Aashak are super delicious and set the mood for what’s to come. My favorite entree is the Kabuli Palow, which features lamb and basmati rice. It’s to die for! Stop in to experience the good food and belly dancing entertainment.

SPiN into the Night

When the night is still young and there’s more fun left to have, SPiN Philadelphia is the ultimate spot to go. I love hanging out with my friends, enjoying music, food, and drinks with one twist: ping pong! I have never thought that I would like ping pong until the the first time I went to SPiN. The whole environment is very fun, so it’s hard to not have a good time!

These are just a few of my fun Philly experiences but be sure to follow me @minebyjas to see where I’m headed next!
