Party in Your Derby Attire This Weekend at the Piazza

preakness at the piazza 2016

Philly’s event of the spring, Preakness at the Piazza, returns for the 141st running of the Preakness Stakes and another year of exciting fashion, horse races, and charity. The event will take place this Saturday, May 21 at The Piazza from 5 to 9:30 p.m. Last year’s event raised more than $120,000 for the National MS Society and brought together 1,000 young professionals to benefit a great cause.

Guests will watch the anticipated Preakness Stakes on The Piazza’s 400ft LED screen and enjoy delicious drinks, food buffets, music, dancing and fashion contests. Celebrity guests including Bex of 96.5 AMP, Ike Reese of SportsRadio 94WIP, Meisha Johnson of CBS3 and Malcolm Jenkins of the Philadelphia Eagles and creator of Rock Avenue Bow Ties will judge the event’s fashion contests as all guests are encouraged to come dressed in their best derby attire of hats, bow ties, dresses and suits!

This year’s event promises the return of traditions from past events, as well as some fun new attractions for attendees. Fox29’s Good Day Philadelphia host Alex Holley and CBS3’s Sports Anchor Pat Gallen are back by popular demand to host this year’s party! Guests will also recognize returning sponsor Tito’s Handmade Vodka, offering delicious drinks including the Preakness Stakes’ signature Black-Eyed Susan. This time, they will be sporting their official Tito’s RV, which includes a mini bar and a seating area. Staying true to the horse racing theme, the Insta Shack Photo Booth will be there for all attendees to capture their favorite Preakness moments. Guests are encouraged to come early so they don’t miss the 1920s jazz ensemble of Drew Nugent and the Midnight Society, who will be welcoming guests in during the event’s first hour. After you’ve had your fill of food and drink, it’s time to hit the dance floor. DJ Royale’s set will follow and keep the party going all night!
