If you’re going to call your event THE Party, you had better be prepared to go big or go home. This is Philadelphia after all, and we certainly have a few epic bashes each vying for the top spot on the social scene. Since the event is a few days away, the verdict is still out. Will THE Party hold onto its prestigious title for yet another year? While we don’t exactly keep a crystal ball in our office, we have been known to make some reliable predictions….
The best way to predict the future is to take a look at the past. For 14 years, THE Party has not only given us an excuse to get glam and head out to one the area’s hottest venues, but they’ve helped The Gift of Life Donor Program to coordinate nearly 36,000 transplants!
Transplants? Yes, you read that correctly. Not only is THE Party one of Philly’s most glittering galas, but it’s for a good cause.
Hosted by Donors Are Heroes, THE Party supports the Gift of Life’s mission to raise public awareness about the importance of being an organ and tissue donor. Since 2001, Donors Are Heroes has been committed to dispelling myths about donation, educating prospective donors, and raising funds for the Gift of Life’s organ and tissue donor program. The Gift of Life Donor Program has acted as the liaison connecting donors and patients who are awaiting life-saving transplants in eastern Pennsylvania, South Jersey, and Delaware since 1974.
What are the requirements for a truly over-the-top soiree? Philly PR Girl has the inside scoop.
- Posh venue: It doesn’t get much swankier than Hyatt at the Bellevue. Expect the space to be truly transformed this weekend.
- Killer food: Philly’s finest restauranteurs are ready to represent. Just to name a few… Barclay Prime, Parc, Rouge, Buddakan, Abe Fisher, and Talula’s Garden.
- Lots of liquor: Not only is $85 of your ticket price tax deductible, but admission includes all night open bar! You might want to start arranging transportation now…
- A VIP host: Mike Jerrick of Fox 29’s Good Day Philadelphia will be in attendance. This prank-loving local celebrity may have another trick up his sleeve this year….
- And, of course, dancing: DJ Eddie Tully and Vocalist Jessy Kyle will keep the dance floor bumpin’ all night long.
Founders Don and Renee D. Freeman are certainly expected to be in attendance as well as Co Chairs Mary Pat Kessler and Angela Giannetti. The event’s diamond sponsors include Cashman & Associates, Olitsky Family Foundation, Parx Casino, Philadelphia Media Network, and Joan and Bernard Spain Family Foundation.
As Donors Are Heroes prepares to wow us with their 2016 event, socialites across the city are getting glam for one evening that’s certainly earned its glittering reputation. While this Friday is April Fool’s Day, THE Party is certainly no joke. To purchase you tickets, visit their official website.
