What could be better than giving the gift of joy during the holiday season? Attendees of this year’s TOY event were able to do just that during the ninth iteration of the Delaware Valley Legacy Fund’s popular party.
Each winter, DVLF* celebrates the season with TOY, a much-beloved annual fundraising event. TOY serves three purposes: one, to raise funds in support of the LGBTQ community; two, to provide toys to local children in need; and three, to have a fabulous time with friends and allies!
The 9th annual TOY event was held on Saturday, December 5 with help from sponsorship by PNC Bank and West Laurel Hill. Decked out in their festive best, guests danced the night away with tunes from DJ Carl Michaels and enjoyed light bites courtesy of Joshua’s Catering.
More than 300 guests packed into the glamorous Fire & Ice in Old City, each with at least one donated toy in hand. In fact, this year over 400 toys were collected around a glittering tree! As in years past, all toys will be donated by DVLF to the brave patients at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and ActionAids in efforts to make the holidays a little brighter.
The Delaware Valley Legacy Fund is a local organization that’s dedicated over 20 years in aiding our LGBTQ community. The DVLF works to raise money for a permanent endowment, fostering positive change through advocacy, grantmaking, scholarships, programming, and education year after year.
