Monday, November 2

  • For those who love Restaurant Week, here is another event sure to be of interest: Cocktail Week in Manayunk! Enjoy a weeklong celebration of the craft of the cocktail by visiting your favorite participating bars and restaurants and taking part in a variety of tastings, dinner pairings, parties, cocktail competitions, happy hours, and signature $5 cocktails!
  • Running November 2nd through the 29th, the Academy of Natural Sciences launches its new exhibit, Drawn to Dinosaurs. This program dives into the science of these magnificent creatures and what scientists can deduce from the fossil record. It’s a visual experience for the whole family!
  • Here is a great event if you love cooking and want to help inspire future chefs. ‘IGNITE: Firing Up Tomorrow’s Chefs’ serves as a fundraiser for Careers through Culinary Arts Program (C-CAP), a non-profit that provides culinary scholarships, education, job training and lifetime career guidance to local students. Featuring dishes from top restaurants and enrolled students, the event celebrates C-CAP’s 25th anniversary, and honors the legacy of Chef Jean-Marie Lacroix, who has trained and mentored students through C-CAP for over 20 years.

Tuesday, November 3

  • Head on over to Johnny Brenda’s for a performance by the Sheep Dogs! They are an award-winning Canadian group who will be sure to rock your socks off.
  • The Skatalites 50th Anniversary Tour is coming to World Cafe Live. This legendary band from Jamaica has been setting the scene of reggae since the 1960’s and have performed with stars such as Bob Marley. Come out tonight for what will be a fun show starting at 8 p.m.!

Wednesday, Nov 4

  • Here at Philly PR Girl, we can’t get enough of Fox 29’s Mike Jerrick! Join him, JerseyMan and PhillyMan Magazine at the Union Trust in Philadelphia for the first ever Unmasking the Legacy. This event honors 10 men and women who serve their community in many ways. As this is a masquerade, make sure to wear proper attire! Click here to purchase tickets.
  • Who doesn’t love a holiday bazaar? The Annual Rydal Park Holiday Bazaar will be held from 9:30 a.m until 2 p.m. Guests will have their selection of handbags, jewelry, holiday decor, and more. Get a start on your holiday shopping!

Thursday, November 5

  • The annual International Salon comes back for its 162nd year, the longest running in the region. This is a unique opportunity to meet professionals from all over the world and representatives from universities. Come out to the Courtyard Marriot in Center City from 5:30 through 7:30 p.m. This is the networking event of the year, and you don’t want to miss it!

Friday, November 6

  • The Walnut Club is offering a night of dinner and dancing – but perhaps not the kind you’re thinking of. Instead, join The Women of The Walnut Club for dinner at Rose Tattoo Cafe and then for a showing of SHARP Dance Company’s premiere of their original performance, “The Seven Windows.”
  • Gladys Knight and the O’Jays are coming to the Kimmel Center! The seven-time Grammy winner is on tour with her sounds that changed the music industry. Get your tickets now!

Saturday, November 7

  • If you love arts and crafts, then the Sugarloaf Craft Festival is the place for you. Taking place at the Philadelphia Convention Center, over 300 artists from across the nation will come to display and sell their work. Come channel your inner artist/craft lover! The festival runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Sometimes, we are all just in need of a good laugh as a way to relax from a stressful week. Well, for this, you might want to head over to Chhaya Cafe for  a comedy stand-up night! Comedy Island will be coming back for their sixth show at the cafe! Beer is included in the ticket price.

Sunday, November 8

  • The 13th annual Jessie’s Day* fundraiser event is back in action at the Independence Seaport Museum with an aim to raise scholarship funds for transplant recipients seeking higher education. Come on out for a fun day of food, music, a silent auction, and more! The event runs from 1 to 4 p.m. The special guest MC is none other than the beautiful Bex from 96.5 FM!
