Monday, September 28

  • Did we hear free? Why, yes we did! Yoga on the Race Street Pier returns with FREE classes seven days a week. The classes are all run by Dhyana Yoga and are BYOM (bring your own mat). Kids and pets are welcome, as are donations.

Tuesday, September 29

  • Take a trip with a Passport to World Cinema at the Roxy Theater. In this hand-picked piece, a young woman hopes to escape the fate of traditionalism facing her by taking an ancient oath to live an eternal virgin. When she moves to Italy to be with her sister and live as a man, complications arise in this hit from the Berlin Film Festival.
  • Acclaimed as the “Best World Music Guitar Player,” Pierre Bensusan comes to World Cafe Live to serenade audiences with his mesmerizing acoustical skills and sounds. Tickets are $22 in advance and $25 at the door.

Wednesday, September 30

  • We all need a good laugh to relax after this crazy weekend! Comedy Underdogs at L’etage welcome celebrated national headliner Jessa Reed. Described as “both disturbing and inspirational,” Reed’s comedy is informed by recovery from drug addiction and a bluntly honest perspective on motherhood.
  • Get up-close and personal with the Philadelphia Navy Yard! Sail to The Navy Yard aboard the Patriot* with scenic views of several key waterfront sites such as the Walt Whitman Bridge, S.S. United States, Packer Marine Terminal, and classical municipal buildings. Socialize with Seaport Museum members and enjoy the waves of the Delaware River.
  • Help empower women at the Career Wardrobe Open House. The Career Wardrobe helps women in transition by providing programs that inspire the confidence necessary to achieve self-sufficiency and pursue a productive career. The event will take place at the Wardrobe Boutique at 1822 Spring Garden Street from 3 to 5 p.m.

Thursday, October 1

  • Dress for Success Philadelphia and NAVEDA Couture* are hosting a Sip n’ Shop! Portions of proceeds from the event will support Dress for Success Philadelphia  – an incredible organization designed to propel women in their careers and in life. The event is from 5 – 8 p.m. at Roden Place! Space is limited, so your RSVP is requested to naveda@navedacouture.com.
  • Did you know there was a World Sake Day? If not, not you do! And what better way to celebrate than at Yakitori Boy*? They are hosting a Saki Night with a full saki tasting that you won’t want to miss. Find out the details here.
  • Want to try new and different foods from some of the hottest spots and trucks in Philly? Come to the Night Market at Frankford and Girard! Attendees will have the chance to enjoy local eateries and help benefit the Philadelphia Food Trust in the process.

Friday, October 2

  • It’s First Friday around the city! Enjoy a special evening in old world Manayunk by strolling down the canal path and Main Street to browse the art galleries and discover new talent, enjoy the charm of our growing shopping scene, stay for dinner at one of their many remarkable restaurants and have a relaxing night out on the town.
  • Of course, the traditional First Friday takes place in Old City! There will be free parking after 5 p.m. between Callowhill and Walnut streets and between Front and 5th streets (this only applies to metered spaces). Enjoy the art galleries, creative pieces available from street vendors, and distinctive restaurants that Old City has to offer.

Saturday, October 3

  • It’s time to get crafty, Philadelphia! CRAFT PHILA* will be holding their USA handmade craft fair on 6th to 7th streets between Chestnut and Market streets in the Historic District. Expect to discover artist-signed works offered in a spectrum of original styles, surrounded by history, greenery, and museums! The event will run throughout October 3rd and 4th.
  • We have all wanted to be a superhero for a day before, haven’t we? Here is a great, family-fun event! The Superhero 5k is hosting a 5k/1k run at the Philadelphia Zoo – say “hi” to your favorite animal as you are running by! Proceeds benefit the Court Appointed Special Advocates, which helps neglected and abused children. Come and be a superhero for an in-need child in Philadelphia.
  • Here’s your once in a lifetime chance to meet the one and only Betsey Johnson! The fashion icon will be taking pictures at The King of Prussia Mall in Lord and Taylor from 2 – 3:30 p.m.

Sunday, October 4

  • Philly, your Eagles are taking on the Redskins at 1 p.m.! Our birds need us! Make sure to get your tickets or cheer on the birds at your favorite watering hole.
  • The Modisch Fashion Show is one of the hottest events of the year! Modisch will be showcasing their fall/winter collection, while hosting a social/networking event, where industry members can mix and mingle at the 1925 Cocktail Lounge in Rittenhouse.  
  • Join the effort with hundreds of thousands of people in raising awareness and funds for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention during the Philadelphia Out of the Darkness Walk. This fundraising event will help to invest in new research, create educational programs, advocate for public policy, and support survivors of suicide loss.
