Monday, September 1st

  • Labor Day at Franklin Square- Before summer is officially over; spend the whole afternoon, starting at noon, enjoying a carnival at Franklin Square! Bring your kids and enjoy games, mini golf, carousel rides, and more! For more information and to purchase tickets, click here!
  • Learn to Play Month with the Grand School of Music- To celebrate the opening of the Grand School of Music, two members of the staff are offering free 20 minute sessions on the piano and cello throughout September! Tuesday, September 2nd

  • Open House and registration at Merge Dance Studio- Starting at 5pm, Merge Dance Studio in Manayunk will open their doors to those who are interested in seeing their space, trying on the latest dancewear, learning more about their classes, and to register for their fall sessions!   • 1 Hour Segway Adventure- Grab the family and do a Segway tour around some special places in Philly! After a quick training session indoor, you can cruise down to the Delaware River, through the South Street Head House, out and about South Philly, around the Italian Market, past the Magic Gardens, and then back through the Historic District and Society Hill!  Wednesday, September 3rd

  • The Young Friends of the Philadelphia Museum of Art (YFPMA) and Young Professionals Network (YPN) invite you to experience a night of libations and laughs at the Powel House sponsored by Pinot Boutique.  RSVP here! 
  • Hive76 Open House- At 7pm, every Wednesday, Hive76 is open to the public, and encourages people to stop by their location to see their space, and work on their individual projects in a setting that allows for creativity to flourish!   • PW’s College Fest Free-4-All- Say goodbye to summer, and hello to a new school year! It doesn’t have to be that bad, because Philadelphia Weekly is hosting a concert free-4-all in Rittenhouse Square Park, for all local college students to attend and enjoy! Four awesome local bands will be performing including DJ Royale, A three-piece electro-pop group originally from Baltimore, Ali Wadsworth, and Thee Idea Men!  Thursday, September 4th

  • Toto: 35th Anniversary Tour- Some of the catchiest songs written in the industry were done by Toto! For 35 years Toto has sold 35 million million albums, been nominated for over 200 Grammys, and still enjoy doing what they love, making good music! For one night only, starting at 8pm, they will be playing at the Keswick Theatre in Glenside, Pa, a small trip outside the city that is well worth the travel!   • Drop in and Do at the Department of Making + Doing- This event incorporates a department of Marketing, and Philadelphia’s teens & adults, novices & experts to connect and collaborate while exploring new ideas and innovations!  Friday, September 5th

  • Bloggy Boot Camp’s: Women Get Social, Philadelphia – Starting at 2 pm, a gathering of fantastic women will occur, and you are invited to join! Organized to encourage one another and share information, topics will include women in business, successful tools, experiences and goals.   • National Realty’s Mod Mash-Up ft. Chris Brown- You’re invited to a gallery exhibition opening of the amazing documentary photography of Chris Brown. His work brings attention to the daily existence of Philadelphia’s homeless population and is extremely moving. Saturday, September 6th

  • Rock Out on the river at Dave & Buster’s Secret Dockside Bar- You’re invited to Dave & Busters Dockside Bar at 6 pm to enjoy some live outdoor musical entertainment, beer, and yummy food, to bid farewell to summer! For more information check out their facebook event page here! 
  • 102.9 WMGK’s 4th Annual Brew Blast on the Battleship- Join the team of 102.9 WMGK’s radio station at 1pm for some serious beer sampling and live classic rock music! A variety of 50 beers to sample, and a free tour of the Battleship NJ with ticket purchase, its bound to be a fun way to spend your afternoon!   • American Swedish Historical Museum’s SmorgasBeer’d- The American Swedish Historical Museum’s Smorgasbeer’d is back for a 4th year and are ready for hours worth of beer sampling, and foot tasting! Tickets to the event are $25 in advance $30 at the door, for the 3 full hours of tasting, drinking, interacting with brewers and touring the museums Swedish beer artifacts.  For more information and to purchase tickets visit the site! 

 Sunday, September 7th

  • Flavors of Philly Food Tour – This fun and quirky food tour is crafted around Philadelphia classics and is sure to please even the most advanced foodies! The tour includes 5 stops and includes some of Philadelphia’s signature dishes, cheesesteaks, cheese fries, tomato pie, soft pretzels, sweet treats, and some famous local cookies!
