MANNA’s 2nd Annual Guac Off

Guac Off

MANNA is continuing the search for the best guacamole in Philadelphia with its 2nd annual Guac Off competition. Get your taste buds ready because on Sunday, June 22nd, the competition begins! Join MANNA from 1 – 4 p.m. at the Sonesta Hotel to eat, drink, and raise money for an amazing organization. All proceeds go towards MANNA’s mission of “delivering nourishing meals to people battling life-threatening illnesses.”

Come taste and judge the guacamole recipes of some fierce competitors in the city – or if you’re feeling brave, compete with your own recipe! This is a BYOA, or bring your own avocado event, and in lieu of a registration fee, competitors must bring enough ingredients to prepare guacamole for at least 200 attendees to enjoy a 1 oz. sample. The recommendation is 40 medium avocados. Ready to get mashing? You can register here!

Contestants will be competing to win one, or all, of three prizes: Grand Prize (restaurant and individual), People’s Choice Award, and Best Table Display Award. If you want to cast a deciding vote, tickets are still on sale but going fast. Adults tickets are $20 and children (under the age of 12) tickets are just $10. They can be bought here.

The judges for this competition are Tracey Davidson, Emmy-winning journalist & co-anchors NBC10 News Today; Roberta Pipito, home chef, food, beer & wine connoisseur and creator of Homemade Delish; and Patty Jackson, WDAS 106.3 FM host of the 4-1-1, her talent and love of music and entertainment, has propelled her to Entertainment Queen of the 21st Century.

If you have any questions regarding the event, tickets or entry into the competition, please contact Robert Nonemacker at 215-496-2662 x 115 or Rnonemacker@mannapa.org.
