City Hall Presents: Kurt Vile Day

city hall

As part of the City Hall Presents concert series, indie rocker Kurt Vile of The War on Drugs fame will end the summer on August 28 with a performance in the courtyard at City Hall.

Vile, a native Philadelphian, will also be presented with the Liberty Bell Award, which will be given to him by Mayor Michael Nutter.  This is the highest award that can be bestowed upon a citizen by the city and can only be given to a Philadelphia Native.  It is bestowed to those that have demonstrated outstanding professional achievements and civic generosity.  In addition, August 28 will be named “Kurt Vile Day” henceforth, which is an additional measure approved by the mayor.

Until that big day, City Hall Presents will still have weekly performances scheduled for each week.  Each performance will be held in the courtyard of City Hall and will begin at 5:30 pm with sets that run an hour long.
