Excited but overwhelmed from all of Philadelphia’s Cinco de Mayo options? Look no further! Dust off your sombreros and leave it to Philly PR Girl, amigos.  Here’s a roundup of the best places to go in the city of brotherly love filled with tequila, tacos, and fun.

Start of your morning with a breakfast taco from Honest Tom’s Taco Shop, a West Philly favorite food truck turned quaint restaurant.  Honest Tom’s customers boast of their fast service and amazingly traditional food items that truly hit the spot.

If you’re feeling a boozy brunch, head over to Cantina Dos Segundos in Northern Liberties or their sister location, Cantina Los Caballitos, in South Philly on East Passyunk Ave.  Both locations will be celebrating El Día de la Batalla de Puebla (The Day of the Battle of Puebla).  The festivities begin Friday at Los Caballitos and carry into the weekend as they pour pitchers of fresh sangria and watermelon margaritas while you soak up the sun on their outdoor porch. Ole!

In Center City, the flavors of Mexico are coming to Midtown Village, as the block will be closed from 12pm-9pm for El Vez’s 2nd Annual 13th Street Cinco de Mayo Block Party.  Come have a Sunday Funday full of food stands, beer specials and legendary margaritas will be accompanied by live music from none other than El Vez, “The Mexican Elvis.”

If you’re just craving delicious food and handcrafted drinks, head to our favorite BYOT (Bring Your Own Tequila) restaurant, Lolita.  From 12-4pm they’ll be offering a special menu of tacos, tortas, and tamales accompanied with pitchers of traditional hand-squeezed margarita mix. From 5-10pm Lolita will switch back to their normal menu for dinner service.

Just around the corner, Barcrawls.com is bringing a weekend of debauchery with a Cinco de Mayo Bar Crawl starting at Tavern on Broad and taking you to Tabu Lounge and Sports Bar, Field House, and/or Ladder 15.  Tickets are available for a one, two, or three day pass, which include exclusive food and drink specials and all access wristbands.

That’s the breakdown of the best fiestas in town.  See the pics below for more info and some other fun events!  Though all seem like so much fun, we’re not sure we made the decision any easier on you or us!  Let me know where you’re partying!  Adios for now.
