Philadelphia kicked off fall’s fashion events with its inaugural year participating in the worldwide sensation Fashion’s Night Out (FNO). FNO campaign is celebrating its fourth year in New York City by after being started in 2009 by Vogue magazine and Council of Fashion Designers of America. Its objective is to restore consumer confidence and boost the fashion industry’s economy during the recession.
This year the U.S. Accessories Council selected Joan Shepp to host their cocktail party. The event featured jewelry designers and creative accessories. Midway through the night, the store reach capacity and visitors were asked to wait behind the velvet rope until others left. It was well worth the wait. Inside were Philadelphia’s best dressed all under one roof! Check out my favorite looks from FNO 2012 below.
Down the street, Knit Wit and Blue Skai Show partnered to highlight designers while shoppers could sip on champagne. There were adorable end-of-summer rompers in bright colors as well as the fur being brought out for the upcoming fall/winter. Macy’s on Chestnut Street was crowded as ever with different events happening throughout the store. One of my favorite parts was the trunk show from Philadelphia Fashion Incubator. It was great to see local designers being supported and showcased.
To celebrate style on this night, there was also a pop-up red carpet event at Rittenhouse Square that allowed folks to show off their fashions. Look for this series over the next couple of weeks. Join all these stores and more in the upcoming weeks for Philadelphia Collection events and Philadelphia Fashion Week. Subscribe to Philly PR Girl to stay updated!
