  • Franklin Square’s Birthday!  Enjoy free carosal rides!
  • Family Movie Night at Xfinity Live!  The movie is “The Lion King.”
  • Philly’s Favorite 60’s Bar, The Trestle Inn, hosts a special double feature Movie Night – Jaws and Splash!

Wednesday, August 1st

  • The Porch at 30th Street Farmers Market (every Wednesday!) 11am – 2pm
  • The Irish Pol in Olde City presents: Hillbilly Hootenanny!  Dress like a Hillbilly party!  $3 Beers, Dueling Banjos, Costume Contests, and more!
  • Rock Oyster Party at The Trestle Inn – enjoy fresh oysters while listening to 60’s & 70’s Surf Rock.
  • Summer Film Series for Great American Musicals at the Suzanne Roberts Theatre. This week’s film is “Dreamgirls”
  • Toadies & Helmet at the Troc
  • FREE Mixer! Join Dîner en Blanc – Philadelphia at Williams-Sonoma Philadelphia (at Bellevue) from 5-7pm. Signup and learn all about this new pop-up picnic, or meet other participants. Wine tasting. Treats from JAR BAR and Ms Goody Cupcake.

Thursday, August 2nd

  • Dog Day Evening at McFadden’s at the Ballpark from 6-9pm.  $25 per person and proceeds go to PAWS. (see flyer below)
  • Indie Pop Band, Fun., performs live at Penn’s Landing Riverstage!
  • Philly 2012 Vendy Awards Winners’ will all be at Eakins Oval (26th and the Parkway) from 6-9pm so you can sample from the best food trucks in Philly!

Friday, August 3rd – Happy First Friday!

  • Stroll through the Olde City Art Galleries and enjoy First Friday!
  • Art After 5 at the Art Museum
  • Every Friday in August The Great Plaza at Penn’s Landing hosts the Smooth Jazz Concert Series with Fireworks.
  • Philly’s own Surk Punk Rock Band, The Vintage Kick, perform at The Station Bar and Grille

Saturday, August 4th

  • OAR performs live at the Festival Pier
  • Jimmy Buffett is at Boardwalk Hall in AC
  • The Mighty Mighty Bosstones at the Troc

Sunday, August 5th

  • 2nd Street Festival from 12-10pm – Northern Liberties is closing off North 2nd between Germantown and Green Streets and filling the entire street with workshops, art, food, beer gardens, and vendors.   For more info click here.
  • The 5th Annual African Cultural Alliance of North America Summer Cultural Festival  is at Great Plaza at Penn’s Landing from 2-8pm.   Stop by for food, music , vendors, and entertainment.
