Celebrating National Camera Day in Philly

Happy National Camera Day! Here at Philly PR Girl, we’re celebrating by snapping photos of our favorite things in Philadelphia. The beauty of photography is the freedom to choose something, somewhere, or someone that gives us the feels about our city. Scroll on to see the unique and creative pics our team put into focus for this special day!

“This is the view from Bok Bar, a seasonal rooftop bar. It’s located at the former school-turned-commercial property for Philadelphia creatives. I love spending time here because it bring a lot of attention to my thriving neighborhood (#TeamSouthPhilly). It’s also hands down the best view of Philadelphia. It’s hard to feel anything but love for my city whenever I visit.”

Andie Levine, PR Coordinator

“My favorite Philly spot is in the middle of the Ben Franklin Bridge. It’s the perfect spot to stop and appreciate our beautiful city skyline after getting a workout in running on the bridge!”

“I snapped this quick photo of The Dream Garden, a stunning Tiffany glass mosaic located in The Curtis Center. It’s one of my favorite places to retreat after a busy day of meetings. Personally, I believe being fully present in my life is important. That means I don’t always capture every moment like this one on camera. However, through my work as a photo/videographer, it’s an honor to highlight the spirit of another person, place, issue or event, in order to share it with people who might not otherwise be able to be a part of the experience.”

“One of my favorite annual events is the Philadelphia Flower Show. Not only can our city boast about hosting the nation’s largest and longest-running horticultural event, but each year we continually put on a bigger and better show to back it up. I especially loved this magical rainbow of 6,000 fresh-cut-and-dried flowers that floated from the tall ceilings during the 2017 Holland: Flowering the World theme.” P.S. Read our interview with Sam Lemheney, PHS’ Chief of Shows and Events.

“I took this photo when the seasons were changing from summer to fall. It was unusually warm that day, and I was invited on my first boat ride on the Delaware River. I titled it “falling for Philly”, because how could you not love this view?”

-Tamara Day, Associate Director

“I took this photo the first time I visited the One Liberty Observation Deck. It was incredible being able to see “Philly From the Top!” Philly PR Girl was there that night in celebration of SPiN making it’s way to Philadelphia very soon. I can’t wait to go back and visit!”

-Catron Holland, Social Media Coordinator

“Amberella’s Goth Hearts posted all over the city are so simple but still get such a strong, positive message across! The wood panel and brick wall make such a unique backdrop for the hearts.” P.S. Learn more about the artist, Amber Lynn, in our interview with her.
