Heating It Up at Hot Yoga Philadelphia

A few stories above the bustling 1500 block of Sansom Street, Hot Yoga Philadelphia (HYP) offers a more tranquil version of healing than, say, the tequila served next door at Mission Taqueria. As one of the original yoga spots in Philadelphia, this studio offers an array of wellness services.

In the classic hot yoga classes, it’s a tried and true method. In a 105-degree studio, the postures and breathing exercises offer an ultimate therapeutic experience. Though known best for their namesake hot yoga sessions, HYP actually also holds non-heated classes from Yin, Vinyasa, PyroPilates, and more styles. All types of classes have varying skill levels and lengths ranging from 45 minutes to 90 minutes.

With full facilities that include a lounge (with new juices available!), yoga mats, towels, showers and basic toiletries, there is everything you need to get started as a beginner or continue your advanced yogi journey. The schedule ranges from sunrise sessions at 6 a.m. to candlelight classes that run beyond 8 p.m.

One of the best features about HYP is their partnership with Philly Yoga Factory, which aims to bring accessible yoga to everyone in the community. Their core mission is to build your relationship between you and your body — regardless of your time, place, or circumstance. The program is completely 100% donation-based.

Keep an eye out for tons of special events with Philly Yoga Factory. The next one is on April 26 at 12:30 p.m. with Yoga Journal as they present the 2017 Live Be Yoga Tour. Join in on a special class with their first-class team of instructors. Enjoy gift bags, giveaways, and a chance to show off on camera as they create a special yoga travelers guide to Philadelphia.
