Celebrate National Random Acts of Kindness Day

“How do we change the world? One random act of kindness at at time.”- Morgan Freeman

February 17 marks
National Random Acts of Kindness Daya day that has become extremely popular for individuals, groups and organizations nationwide to encourage kindness amongst each other. Would you like to make someone’s day for absolutely no reason? Today (and everyday) you can.

With companies offering free giveaways, nonprofits encouraging ways to give back, and individuals sharing how they are participating in the national holiday, #RandomActsOfKindnessDay is quickly trending on social media! Get in on the action by using the hashtag to share kind actions in your life.

If you’d like to participate, but are unsure how, below are a few ways the Philly PR Girl team will be celebrating the day:

Brittany: I just finished reading a good book and now I’m going to leave it in on the bus for someone else to discover, enjoy, and pass it on again! (Idea inspiration courtesy of @booksontheunderground.)

Amanda: I will be donating to kids in need for Philabundance’s annual Spread the Love campaign, taking place until the end of February.

Samantha: I plan on buying a stranger their coffee at Starbucks! A hot beverage in this cold weather can make anyone’s day.

As Ellen DeGeneres reminds us everyday, “be kind to one another.” For additional ideas, check out internationally recognized nonprofit, The Random Acts of Kindness Foundation, founded upon the belief of kindness and dedicated to providing resources and tools that encourage acts of kindness.
