Monday, May 9

  • Our city is well known for its pop up beer gardens, but what about cocktails?! Local craft cocktail operation Spirit Forward and immersive theatre troupe The Renegade Company are teaming up for a two-day art installation. Monday is your last day to sip, stroll, and take part in this unique experience, with performances based off of Hieronymous Bosch’s In The Garden of Earthly Delights!
  • Speaking of pop-ups, Neuf will be hosting a “strange and sumptuous evening” featuring an underground dinner theater performance titled Violence of the Lambs & Cockatrice. Check out the three-course menu and buy your tickets here!

Tuesday, May 10

  • Grab your (complimentary) boxing gloves! Chris Hart from the Rothman Institute Physical Therapy Department will be hosting an hour of intensive exercise with elements of kickbox training at Dilworth Plaza. Space is limited to first come first serve!
  • Have you ever wanted to try your hand at knitting? As part of the Way Gay U adult program series, Charles Rumford is hosting a knitting class at the William Way LGBT Community Center, open to all ages and levels of experience! Needles and yarn will be supplied.

Wednesday, May 11

  • Calling all Irish whiskey fans! Bainbridge Street Barrel House is hosting a Jameson tasting event beginning at 7 p.m. Tickets are $40, and light snacks will be served throughout the tasting of Jameson Caskmates, Black Barrel Reserve, and Red Breast 12 Year.

Thursday, May 12

  • Food educators, advocates, and those who are SNAP eligible are invited to share resources and knowledge. The Greater Philadelphia Coalition Against Hunger and the Free Library of Philadelphia’s Culinary Literacy Center are co-hosting this year’s Good Food for All! Conference. Grab your tickets for a day packed with workshops, panels, and cooking demos.
  • On Thursday, the Philadelphia Business Journal celebrates the 2016 class of Philadelphia 40 Under 40 winners with an evening cocktail reception at the National Museum of American Jewish History. Visit here to register and attend!

Saturday, May 14

  • Saturday is the official opening of the Philadelphia Museum of Art’s latest exhibit, Creative Africa. Living in the Perelman Building, this exhibit presents the visionary works– including contemporary photography, fashion, architecture, and sculpture – of artists throughout Africa.

Sunday, May 15

  • Global starlet, violinist Lana Trotovsek, lends her immense talent to The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia on the 15th and 16th. Sponsored by the Republic of Slovenia, this special program includes the world premiere of Di Vittorio’s Venus and Adonis, as well as Mendelssohn, Brossé, and Mozart.
