What’s going on This Week in Philly…

Monday, March 14

  • One of the most iconic bands of all time is coming to the area as a rescheduled event! Rock out to The Who as they play their legendary music at the Wells Fargo Center!

 

Tuesday, March 15

  • The Sound of Music is opening at the Academy of Music until March 20! This Tony Award-winning and fan favorite musical is a must-see while it’s in the City of Brotherly Love.
  • Timeless: A Gastronomic Tour Through Time is a pop-up restaurant theme from The Restaurant School and Walnut Hill College! Guests will be presented with innovative cooking methods from dishes throughout history and around the world! This would be the perfect opportunity for that cooking class you’ve always thought about taking! Prior reservations are strongly recommended, and if you don’t make this one, the event goes until April 16!

Wednesday, March 16

  • Join the Free Library of Philadelphia’s Torresdale branch for a Wooden Block Party inside the library! Children ages three to six and their parents/guardians can come to build, create, and play, while wearing pajamas! The event starts at 6:30 p.m.

 

Thursday, March 17

  • Happy Saint Patty’s Day! Register for the Good Food Flats Takeover* event at City Tap House to learn more about the new student housing in University City opening in Fall 2016!
  • Lights, Camera, Sing! The Philadelphia Gay Men’s Chorus has a show that will take you to the movies in a performance filled with popular music from famous films! The event is at the Prince Music Theater and runs until March 19.
  • The Philly Puff workshop is here to tell you all about their 3rd Annual Inflatable Sculpture Contest! Submit proposals of your ideas and get inspiration and advice on how to make your inflatable by past winners at this workshop!

 

Friday, March 18

  • Join Chef Jose Garces and his friends to make a difference in the immigrant community in Philadelphia! Celebrate at The Garces Foundation 2016 Benefit called Think Local/Give Local at the Loews Hotel! Cocktail attire is recommended.
  • Young professionals in the Philadelphia area are sleeping outside of the Covenant House Pennsylvania to raise awareness and money to help homeless youth! Reserve a sleeping bag, or just stop by to donate.

 

Saturday, March 19

  • The Brian’s Harley Davidson’s 9th Annual Black and Blue Ball is at The Heroes Ballroom to support The Muscular Dystrophy Association! Guests are suiting in black suits and blue jeans in celebration. This event includes a cocktail reception, full course dinner, and live auctions to raise money for a good cause.

Sunday, March 20

  • Take the kids on a hayride to Bunnyland at Linvilla Orchards! Until March 26, kids can meet the Easter Bunny in his house after a hayride! There’s also a beautiful Garden Center filled with flowers and accessories, plus the Farm Market has great fresh bakery items for your spring season and Easter dinner!
