What’s going on This Week in Philly…

Monday, February 15

  • There’s FREE admission to the National Constitution Center today in honor of their month-long celebration of African-American history for Black History Month! See exhibits and tours such as Breaking Barriers, which includes an interactive show that spotlights the lives of Thurgood Marshall, Jackie Robinson, and more!
  • So many free admissions! The National Museum of American Jewish History isn’t charging entry today either for Presidents Day! Explore American leaders and examine legendary documents throughout history.

Tuesday, February 16

  • Mole Street Artists is hosting a launch party at The Hard Rock Cafe. With no cover charge, listen and see what the Philly music scene has to offer. Space is limited, so make sure you RSVP!
  • Valentine’s Day fever is still in the air, so go to an event that lets you meet other singles and volunteer at the same time! Mackin’ & Packin’ Volunteer Event lets you drink and mingle while preparing food packages for those in need at the Philabundance warehouse. Email volunteer@philabundance.org for your invitation to participate with the subject line: “Mackin & Packin”. Space is extremely limited!

Wednesday, February 17

  • Philly Fashion Week begins tonight at 2300 Arena! The opening night show is the Streetwear presented by the Philadelphia 76ers, so you don’t want to miss this!
  • The Academy of Natural Sciences is hosting their George Washington Carver Science Fair for Philadelphia schoolchildren once again. The event allows students to display their various projects and experiments throughout the museum.

Thursday, February 18

  • Philly Fashion Week continues with the Luxe Men’s Show! Get on your suit and tie by looking at the sleek and classy men’s wear in Philadelphia.
  • Get into your best UK attire and head to a casino-themed game night for ActionAids! Glamsino Royale: London Calling will have you wanting to be a Londoner after you drink and eat British fare while trying to win package getaways from Kimpton Hotel. Prepared to be photographed and dance the night away!
  • Hosted by the Delaware Valley Legacy Fund*, OurNightOut is back with an extra hour of networking this month! Philly Magazine called this the best LGBTQ event in Philadelphia, so be there to experience the function they’re raving about!

Friday, February 19

  • High fashion and couture are something every girl dreams of, so witness it live at Runway I during Philly Fashion Week! Can’t make it Friday? Runway II takes place the following night on Saturday!
  • Make it a relaxing Friday night and enjoy Max Swan Jazz Trio at the Rittenhouse Hotel. Drop in for a cocktail and stay for the 9:30 performance.

Saturday, February 20

  • Manayunk.com and ADVENT Consulting are bringing back Mummers Mardi Gras in Manayunk for their family-friendly celebration that helps raise money and support for Philadelphia’s greatest tradition: the Mummers. Start on Shurs Lane and go down Main Street, and enjoy a restaurant party when it’s all over!
  • “Picasso: The Great War, Experimentation and Change” is an exhibition coming to The Barnes Foundation, and they are throwing an opening party in honor of the anticipation! Celebrate and see the exhibit while enjoying after-hours access!

Sunday, February 21
