Monday, January 4

  • Don’t give up on the 76ers! The Philadelphia basketball team takes on the Minnesota Timberwolves for the inter-conference matchup at 7 p.m. at the Wells Fargo Center. Make it a fun night out, with tickets going for as low as $9!

Tuesday, January 5

  • Was your New Year’s resolution to get healthier with exercise and fitness? To start your year on the right track, Free Fitness Philly will be holding a pop-up fitness boot-camp class in Sister Cities Park! In case you missed it the first time, yes, it’s FREE! These workouts run weekly until January 19. Register here.

Wednesday, January 6

  • Take the kids to the “Meet Betsy Ross” exhibit on Arch Street. Step inside her newly renovated shop and meet her in person! You can hear about the famous story of the first Stars & Stripes. The Betsy Ross House is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the experience ends on February 28.

Thursday, January 7

  • Need a laugh? Come see Rich Vos from Opie and Anthony and NBC’s Last Comic Standing at Helium Comedy Club! The show starts at 7:30p.m., and Vos will be headlining four shows this week.
  • Attention tech lovers: If you have a great invention in mind, come to Drop In + Do! Go to the Department of Making + Doing to meet other teens and adults to discuss and explore new technologies and ideas. Whether you’re a beginner or an expert, collaborate with other people by bringing a project you’re working on, or just get inspired by everyone’s amazing ideas from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Friday, January 8

  • Did someone say beer tour? Join Philly On Tap and travel the city to taste some of the finest local craft beers. The tour meets at Dilworth Park, outside of the café on the corner of 15th and JFK at 5 p.m. Pay only $39 for a visit and taste of at least nine of the best bars in Philadelphia. Saturday, January 9

  • Are you a member of The Walnut Club? If so, go to the “Picture Your Prosperity” workshop where you will learn President Marla McDermott’s technique to make a vision board that will help you set and achieve your goals for the year. The event will take place at Culture Works from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Materials such as paper and glue will be provided with your ticket.
  • Head to the Reading Terminal Market for a food scavenger hunt! “Watson’s Adventures’ Munch Around the Market” starts at 12 p.m. and will take you on a unique adventure for the best foods in the market and nearby Chinatown. You’ll learn and enjoy the games played during this $22 event. Bring your camera and $10 cash for food purchases.

Sunday, January 10

  • It’s the second Sunday of the month, which means Family Jams is being held at Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens! Bring the kids and family for a day filled with hands-on workshops, mosaic themed crafts, and kid-friendly tours. Admission for Family Jams workshop is free, but the tours are $3 per person. This event is held from noon to 4 p.m.
