Monday, December 7

  • Keith and Kristyn Getty and Friends are coming all the way from Ireland to the Kimmel Center for a festive Christmas celebration! They are on their fourth annual tour of Joy – An Irish Christmas. Their music blends Celtic, Bluegrass, Americana, and classical music with cultural dance and the choral sounds of the holiday. The show starts at 7:30 p.m.!

Tuesday, December 8

  • The Flyers take on the New York Islanders at the Wells Fargo Center! The game starts at 7:00 p.m.

Wednesday, December 9

  • Get ready, we know you will be excited about this one. Vanessa Carlton is coming to the World Cafe Live! If you have seen White Chicks, you can remember that hilarious scene where Terry Crews starts belting out, A Thousand Miles. I mean, this isn’t just another Ordinary Day, Grammy nominated Vanessa Carlton will be in Philly and we are stoked! Shows starts at 8 p.m.
  • It’s that time of year again! The holiday season is here and with that, it brings the Q102 Jingle Ball. It will be at the Wells Fargo Center with star performances by Selena Gomez, 5 Seconds of Summer, and Shawn Mendes.

Thursday, December 10

  • Every year, the South Philly Striders and Fishtown Beer Runners team up for the SPS/FBR Holiday Light Run through South Philly. It will begin at 7 p.m., leaving from Broad and Oregon in Philadelphia. Proceeds from the from the event raise food and donations for Philabundance. The run ends with a celebration at the American Sardine Bar at 18th and Federal Streets.

Friday, December 11

  • George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker at the Academy of Music is a favorite holiday tradition. The Pennsylvania Ballet present the timeless Christmas story of a young girl, her Christmas gift, and a magical dream. The show runs until December 31st!
  • The Philadelphia Punk Rock Flea Market returns, and it is running all weekend long! You can catch it Friday 6 to 11 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. along 461 9th Street. This year will be the biggest flea market EVER with over 700 vendors! There will be old records, clothes, art, instruments and more! Plus, awesome food trucks to keep you fueled the whole weekend.

Saturday, December 12

  • Beginning at Chestnut Hill Avenue, musicians, marching bands, community groups, and antique cars will parade on Germantown Avenue for the 2015 Chestnut Hill Holiday Parade! It will be led by the Philadelphia’s Mounted Police Unit, Chestnut Hill’s Fire Company Engine 37, Wyndmoor Volunteer Fire Hose #1, and everyone’s favorite: the Phillie Phanatic. More than 400 child marchers representing local schools, sports groups, scout troops and sporting clubs are participating.
  • Take your holiday cheer to the open seas with the Independence Seaport Museum’s 6th annual Seaport Parade of Lights! The event begins at 11 a.m. with holiday festivities such as selfies with Santa and ornament decorating! Then, shortly after 5 p.m. you can head outside for the main event: a parade of working and pleasure boats led by the Jupiter, a beautifully maintained tug from 1902, all competing for the title of the best-decorated boat.
  • Tis the season to get into the holiday spirit. And what better way than joining Running of the Santas? Saturday at the Electric Factory is the annual celebration that brings thousands of pub crawlers to the streets dressed as Santa Claus for charity. There will be live music, drinks, and food. Proceeds will benefit the Ellie Koerner Leukemia Foundation. There will be 10 live bands, $3 beers and so much more!

Sunday, December 13

  • The Eagles take on the Buffalo Bills at home! We know our birds have been a little shaky this season, but Philly is known for their loyal fans and we need to still cheer on the men for the win!
