Monday November 16

  • Every Monday at the World Cafe Live is Monday Jazz Jam. This fun event is free! The house band opens at 5:30 p.m. with two songs, and after that it is a free stage for anyone who wants to play. Network with fellow jazz fans like yourself, or come to enjoy a live performance during dinner!
  • The Hard Rock Cafe Philly presents Barocker! This is the first round of the spirited bartending competition judged by a panel of experts and local celebrities. There is free admission, happy hour specials, AND a complimentary buffet. Can it get any better?

Tuesday, November 17

  • The Parks Alliance is throwing a Pop-Up Party to welcome new Executive Director, George Matysik. The party will take place at the Parkside Business and Technology Center, which overlooks the West Fairmount Park with a stunning view of the Philadelphia skyline.There will be food, music, and cocktails! The fun starts at 5:30 p.m.
  • Guess what? #YouAreBeautiful and celebrate the #YouAreBeautiful Project Launch with sweet treats, signature sparkling cocktails, and a “hottest shoes” contest. This is a workshop to help youth see their value and challenge  self-limiting beliefs and negative self-images. Help be a part of the change!

Wednesday, November 18

  • Come out to the Philadelphia Art Museum for the Stephen Starr Events Interactive Chef Demonstration Series! Executive Chef Gerald Drummond (POD, Morimoto, Continental Midtown) will hold a 90-minute class teaching how to make Spanish tapas. These small plates of food are great for any holiday party!
  • It seems Wednesday is a Spanish-themed night! Tinto, an intimate Basque tapas bar, is bringing a ¡Txotx! celebration to Philadelphia with an evening of traditional ciders, wines, cheese, tapas, and whole roasted pigs. In Basque country, locals celebrate the uncorking of a barrel of hard cider at a Sadartodegis (a cider house) with a cheer of Txotx (pronounced “Choach”). During this  interactive event, guests will have access to expert-led tasting stations and prizes.

Thursday November 19

  • The PA Conference for Women returns to the Pennsylvania Convention Center for its 12th year. This one-day professional and personal development expo will feature dozens of speakers, including Jessica Alba and Rachel Ray. This is a very inspirational and rewarding event that is also a great place to network with local influential women!
  • The Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce is partnering with Global Philly to bring Sweden Nation Day at the SCA Americas Headquarters from 2:30-7:00 p.m. This conference will address how the Swedes integrate business strategies with the “triple bottom line” of people, planet and profit. This event will include networking and cocktails!
  • The city’s go-to source for information on happy hours and and local drinking, Drink Philly is celebrating five years in the business! They are holding a black tie attire anniversary bash at the Top of the Tower from 7 to 10 p.m. Come party on the 51st floor and have some drinks with our favorite booze crew.
  • The Pennsylvania SPCA is gearing up for their annual Bark and Whine benefit to raise money for animals in need! This year’s event will take place at the Horticulture Center from 6 to 10 p.m. The event is sold out, but you can contact Patricia Mecca at (267) 463-2317 or pmecca@pspca.org to be added to the waiting list.

Friday, November 20

  • #FranklinSquareFridays are kicking off the holiday season! Now through December 18, the square will play host to special themed nights, food trucks, and holiday fun for the whole family. On the 20th, characters from the Pennsylvania Ballet’s The Nutcracker will bring holiday fantasy to life in the square from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Saturday, November 21

  • If you love beer, the Winter Beer Fest is the event for you! Vendors will offer over 100 beers from around the world at the old Fed Ex Warehouse on 9th and Spring Garden streets. This festival is all about celebrating beers and being thankful for the craft of beer-making!
  • With over 200 restaurants participating, the 1st Annual Philadelphia Food Fest allows you to taste test all our local food scene has to offer! The goal is to support and bring awareness to food-related charities in the city. Make your reservation between 12 and 8 p.m. For a full list of participating restaurants, check out their website. It is encouraged that you bring one or more canned goods!
  • Join the community of Chestnut Hill and come together to celebrate their annual tree lighting ceremony and official kickoff to the holiday season. There’ll be live music, hot chocolate, shopping, cookies, a toy drive, and even a special surprise guest!

Sunday, November 22

  • The Philadelphia Marathon is here this weekend! Registration for the marathon and half-marathon are now closed, but you can still sign up with one of their charity partners. Grab your sneakers or come watch and cheer the runners on!
  • The second annual Turkey Day Tailgate is back! Co-hosted by Phan Cave* and Philly PR Girl, we are throwing a tailgate to benefit Philabundance before the Eagles take on the Buccaneers! One ticket gets you access to a full Thanksgiving menu, beer, hot cider, a live DJ, AND private bathrooms at the Phan Cave luxury trailer. All guests are asked to bring a canned food donation to go to Philabundance. You don’t want to miss this!
