Monday, May 4

  • Take your little ones to listen to stories with music, sing songs, and explore real instruments up close. The Philadelphia Orchestra’s interactive program, Sound All Around Ensemble, is hosted by award-winning storyteller Charlotte Blake Alston. Click here for ticket info.
  • Join the American Heart Association and the Philadelphia Phillies for the 18th annual Home Runs For Heart home run derby contest at Citizens Bank Park. This two-day event is held in honor of Hall of Famer Richie Ashburn, who died suddenly of a heart attack in 1997. Tickets are $400 for individuals and $1,500 for teams. Register soon!

Tuesday, May 5

  • Matthew Curry & The Fury will be performing at World Cafe Live beginning at 8 p.m. Curry has been jamming with the greats since the beginning – Tommy Castro, Bernard Allison, Bryan Lee, and Ronnie Baker Brooks, to name a few! Tickets are just $10.
  • So many bars and restaurants are celebrating Cinco de Mayo, but one in particular you should check out is Bridget Foy’s! They have specials on top of specials with $3 Coronas, $5 glasses of margaritas, and $20 pitchers. Did we mention their $5 guac and chips and $12 fish tacos? Stop by between 12 and 10 p.m.!

Wednesday, May 6

  • At The National Constitution Center, former journalist for Frontline Richard Reeves will tell the story of the less publicized event of the Pearl Harbor bombings: the Japanese-American internment camps. Admission is free, but you must call to make a reservation or order online. The event will take place from 12 – 1 p.m.
  • Sample over 650 exclusive wines from around the world and cuisine from Philadelphia’s most popular restaurants at The Philadelphia Wine & Food Festival! The event takes place from 5 – 9 p.m. at Lincoln Financial Field. Tickets range from $130-225.

Thursday, May 7

  • Wizard World Comic Con is coming to the Pennsylvania Convention Center from May 7 to 10. Ticket prices vary depending on the day and event. Interact with exhibitors and artists at this pop culture convention!
  • Join the Spring Fling Happy Hour at Pagano’s Market & Bar on 2001 Market Street from 6 – 9 p.m. Tickets are only $10 and will get you a complimentary drink and appetizers. Don’t forget your business card!

Friday, May 8

  • Thousands of athletes from more than 125 colleges and universities in the U.S. and Canada come to compete in the Aberdeen Dad Vail Regatta. This two-day race will be held on the Schuylkill River in beautiful Fairmount Park. Grab your picnic basket and let the races begin!
  • Enjoy classical Chinese dance, dazzling costumes, thunderous battle drums, enchanting melodies, and animated backdrops on stage as the Shen Yun revives 5,000 years of civilization. The Shen Yun will be in Philadelphia at the Merriam Theater until May 10.
  • Brian McKnight has earned himself a spot in contemporary music history by releasing 15 albums to date, with several going 2 and 3x platinum. Now touring with longtime collaborators Chris “big sexy” Loftlin, and guitarist, Tyrone “gutt bucket” Chase, McKnight will be performing his hits at the Keswick Theatre at 8 p.m.

Saturday, May 9

  • Join The World’s Largest Bar Crawl at various locations throughout Center City Philadelphia from 12 p.m. – 2 a.m. Tickets are just $10 for general admission and $25 for VIP admission, with group discounts available for both options.
  • Franklin’s Paine Skatepark Fund presents Love On The Streets (LOTS), a street culture festival that embraces the artistry of communities in Philadelphia. LOTS will connect diverse citywide communities to grow Philadelphia’s youth and young adults through skateboarding. Check out the skate demonstrations at this fundraiser and kick-off party from 12 – 8 p.m.
  • Learn the story of Genghis Khan, an extraordinary man from a remote corner of Asia who created an empire that led the world into the modern age. The Franklin Institute will be showing this exhibit through January 3, 2016. Tickets are $29.95 for adults and $24.95 for children ages 3-11.

Sunday, May 10

  • Ciara comes to the Keswick Theatre on her first tour in SIX years! She will be performing hits from her new album Jackie beginning at 8 p.m. Tickets range from $30-$45.
  • In the Chamber Orchestra’s 50th Anniversary Season finale, Music Director Dirk Brossé gathers a sensational group of talent to perform a robust program of engaging music. The concert will take place at the Kimmel Center’s Verizon Hall at 2:30 p.m.
