First Time in Philly and you only have one night…

Here is what I told my NYC friend that is coming down to Philly that has never been.

There is just SO MUCH to do here, but for one night, these are must do’s…

On Your Way Down Stop At:

  • Pats & Genos for your first Philly Cheesesteak They are across the street from one another in South Philly. For GPS Use: 1237 Passyunk Ave Philadelphia, PA 19147
  • The new hot spot in Philly is called Federal Donuts – They only serve specialty donuts and fried chicken – 1219 South 2nd Street, Philadelphia, PA 19147

Restaurants (can’t go wrong with any of them)

  • El Vez – Stephen Star/Mexican/YUM! Make sure you stop in the Photo Booth!

  • Union Trust – Steakhouse (7th and Chestnut)

  • Tulula’s Garden (7th and Walnut) – Lovely especially on a nice day!

  • Zahav – This restaurant won “Best of Philly 2011 for the category: Restaurant to take your New York friends to”….so I had to include it, plus it’s AMAZING. It’s Israeli.

Wanna Grab a Beer:

  • McGillians – Oldest Bar in Philly, can sometimes be crowded, but it’s worth it.

Things to Do:

  • Rittenhouse Park (18th & Walnut) – There are great restaurants along the park too!
  • Comcast Center (17th and JFK)– There is a big screen HD screen and it’s worth a look if you are walking around that area!
  • Macys – Go check out the EAGLE is the shoe department.
  • Van Gogh exhibit at the Philadelphia Museum of Art (24th and the Parkway)
  • The Love Statue (15th and JFK)
  • The Spa at the Loews, Breathe, is great and the prices are not bad.
  • Ok….Go see the cracked bell I guess too!
