We can hardly contain our excitement over all the fun things going on this week in the city. There’s a handful of free workout classes, a tango social, an arts festival, and MORE!

June 21

  • Experience a bit of nature in the city at Parkway Pals! Philadelphia Parks & Recreation is leading a series of interactive, outdoor activities for children at Sister Cities Park. The event starts at 10:30 a.m. and is free to all visitors! 
  • We’ve got the perfect Monday workout for you: Zumba at Dilworth Park. From 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. instructor Dwayne Townsend will be leading the session. Expect to sweat, dance and get fit! 

June 22

  • Feel like a professional athlete at Center City Fit’s Speed Games! This hour-long workout consists of a variety of competitive games. Earn bragging rights while increasing your speed, agility and fitness! The event starts at 6 p.m. but make sure you get to Dilworth Park early to fill out the waiver. 
  • Put on your dancing shoes and head down to the Girasol Tango Social! At 6 p.m., the Philadelphia Argentine Tango School is hosting a tango class for all levels. The social is afterward, where you and your partner can mix and mingle with other dancers. The event is being held at Sunflower Philly in Olde Kensington.

June 23

  • It’s the best time of year: the Wawa Welcome America Festival! As a part of the celebration, everyone can visit the Shofuso Japanese House and Gardens for free on Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. 
  • Did you know that June 18th was International Sushi Day? Don’t feel bad if you missed it, there is still time to celebrate! You can participate in the 2021 Sushi Day Virtual Run until June 30th! When you register, you also receive a medal and sushi-inspired bib!

June 24

  • Every Thursday evening this summer, Collins Park is transformed into the Wine Garden! From 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., enjoy some special selections from Chaddsford Winery—available by the glass and bottle. Guests are encouraged to pair their drinks with takeout from local restaurants. 
  • Go back in time with Rewind at the Rink! From 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., live DJs will be playing our favorite 80s, 90s and early 2000s songs at the Rothman Roller Rink in Dilworth Park. Buy your tickets ahead of time before they sell out!

June 25

  • Join Healthy Minds Philly at their Monthly Meditation! Reflect and manifest from 12 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. at this free virtual event. Don’t forget to register in advance!
  • Cross the river and spend the evening at the Perkins Conservatory Indie Night! The Perkins Center for the Arts, located 30 minutes away from the city in Moorestown, is hosting this outdoor concert from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Three local bands will be performing: Out of Service, Moonroof and Scapeghosts!

June 26

  • Support small businesses at the Buy Local, Buy Black! Pop Up Shop! From 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., there will be clothing boutiques, mobile bartending, food vendors and more at the market in Wissahickon.
  • Spend your Saturday night kayaking along the Schuylkill River! This summer, Hidden River Outfitters is leading special Moonlight Kayak Tours. Participants will meet at the Walnut Street Dock at 8 p.m. Purchase your ticket ASAP!

June 27

  • Head down to Main Street for the 32nd Annual Manayunk Arts Festival! From 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., you can view some of the country’s best arts and crafts. Plus, did you know that this festival is the tri-state’s largest outdoor, juried arts festival?! You won’t want to miss it! 
  • Peddler’s Village is throwing a Summer Block Party and you’re invited! There will be plenty of outdoor activities and, if you need to take a break from the heat, inside events too. Additionally, several Mummers string bands will be performing!
