June 14

  • Blue Cross RiverRink Summerfest and The Midway are now open! At Summerfest, you can play mini golf, ride the ferris wheel and partake in even more fun and games. Plus, for the first time ever, the ice rink has been converted into a neon roller skating rink! At the Midway, you can take a break from the heat and play some carnival games. Both of these Philly classics are located along Penn’s Landing.
  • Who doesn’t love a good deal?! Take a drive and treat yourself—and your child, cousin, niece or nephew, etc.—to Fireside Bar & Grille in Ambler! From 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. every Monday, a free kids pizza comes with an adult meal!

June 15

  • Have you missed going to the movies? We sure have! Thankfully, the Philadelphia Film Society’s annual SpringFest is in person this year! You can watch some of the year’s most-acclaimed indie films, documentaries and foreign flicks at the PFS Bourse
  • Produce to the People is coming to Philly! If you don’t already know, this fundraising event travels between D.C., Wilmington and the City of Brotherly Love. Head down from Love City Brewing from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and help raise money for Mama-Tee, the organization responsible for Philly’s community fridges!

  • Expand your wine knowledge with the Wine School of Philadelphia’s Great Wines of Sonoma class! In this online lesson, you can learn all about the various wines which make Sonoma, a rural area north of San Francisco, famous.
  • Experience the Franklin Institute at home with their Franklin Outside series! This week, environmental scientist Dr. Rachel Valletta is discussing the impact of humans on the ecosystem. This family-friendly event is free and premieres on Facebook at 11 a.m!

June 17

  • Have a feast at the Food Love Pop Up! There will be four food trucks: Mom-Mom’s serving pierogies, Have A Ball serving (you guessed it) meatballs, Pink’s Cold Treats serving dessert and Stateside Vodka serving cocktails. This foodie event is being held at the new event venue BLDG39 in Bridesburg
  • The Mütter Museum is hosting a Springtime Plant Pop Up Exchange! At this free event, you can receive cuttings, exchange plants and meet other plant lovers! The free event is taking place in the museum’s Benjamin Rush Medicinal Plant Garden. Advance registration is required.

  • The Neon Museum is open Friday through Sunday this summer! Witness American art and history through neon signs and other roadside art. The museum, located in Fishtown, is open from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
  • O captain, my captain! Come see the late 80s classic Dead Poets Society at the DelArt Cinema Drive In. Every Friday in June the Delaware Art Museum in Wilmington is screening a different film. Buy your ticket now!

June 19

  • Stop by East Market and enjoy a free concert! Every weekend, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., there is Live Local Music on Chestnut Walk. This week’s performer is a surprise—you’ll have to show up to find out!
  • Celebrate the anniversary of the 13th Amendment at the Philadelphia Juneteenth Parade & Festival! There will be an art fair, various vendors and a march at Malcolm X Park and other locations across West Philly

June 20

  • Start the longest day of the year off right: hiking through the Wissahickon woods! From 5:30 a.m. to 7 a.m., the Wissahickon Environmental Center is hosting a Summer Solstice Hike. Just a heads up: this hike is for adults only!
  • Spend Father’s Day at Treetop Quest in West Fairmount Park! Their special Father’s Day Stretch & Zipline begins at 9 a.m. There’ll be a stretching warm up session before the best part: 2.5 hours of zip lining and a treetop obstacle course. This adventure is meant for ages 7 and up!
