It’s Thanksgiving #ThisWeekInPhilly and we have so much to be thankful for! As this crazy year continues we hope that you and your loved ones are happy and healthy. This week, we’re focusing on ways you can give back to our favorite city by donating resources or supporting small businesses, and of course, some fun virtual events for this holiday season. Read on to find out more!

Monday November 23
  • Speed Philadelphia Networking is holding a virtual networking event at 7:00pm! Tickets are $21.25. You can get them here
  • Meals on Wheels is in need of volunteers this year to help deliver food to our wonderful senior community. Consider signing up and volunteering some of your time this holiday season here.
Tuesday November 24
  • A great way to stay safe, spend time with family, and get in the holiday spirit is to drive through the Holiday Light Show at Shady Brook Farm. Enjoy tunnels of lights, a holiday market, and even Christmas trees for sale!
Wednesday November 25
  • ACHIEVEability is continuing their tradition of providing Thanksgiving meals to vulnerable families in Philadelphia this year. For $40 to this organization, you can sponsor a family’s Thanksgiving dinner! Read more about ways to help out here.
  • Sunday Breakfast Rescue Mission is in need of men’s clothing donations this holiday season. Items can be dropped off at their location, 1325 Vine Street. Check out the items they’re in most need of here
Thursday November 26
  • Happy Thanksgiving! No matter how you’re celebrating we hope you have a safe and happy holiday. If you’re not able to get together with family this year, consider hosting a Zoom game night or happy hour after dinner. 
  • In lieu of Philly’s annual Thanksgiving Day Parade, 6abc will be hosting a virtual celebration from 9am until 12pm. Check out all of the details here
Friday November 27
  • Black Friday is looking a little different this year, but there’s plenty of ways to support your favorite local small businesses today and still snag some great deals! Check out some of our favorite local online boutiques today: The Aspen Tree Vintage, tbd studios, City Planter, and Art Star!
Saturday November 28
  • It’s Small Business Saturday! Today, take some time to check out the Black Woman About Business’ pop-up shop from 12pm to 5pm and shop some local designer jewelry, clothing, accessories, and more! 
  • Get in the holiday spirit by visiting Peddler’s Village in New Hope. With over 60 festive shops and tons of twinkling lights, it’s the perfect way to spend a date night or just get out of the city! Visit their website for more information on the village, and take a minute to read their updated safety protocol.
Sunday November 29
  • Need to decompress after this crazy week? Sahaja Yoga is offering a free guided meditation class from 9:45am until 11am today! Click here for more information on how to join. 
  • Linvilla Orchards Christmas Tree Farm is finally open! Spend some time outdoors, enjoy some seasonal food and drink, and cut down your favorite tree for Christmas this year. Tickets are required, so get them quick! More details are on their website.
