August sadly reminds us that nothing lasts forever, and summer’s end is near. Have you checked off all the activities on your 2018 summer bucket list? We’ve created a list of some of Philly’s best summer events and activities that are a must-see. (Pssst, it’s in chronological order!) Most of them involve being outside (not down the shore) and making the best use of the warm weather before the chill sets in.

For over 25 years, Diner en Blanc has been organizing dreamy evenings across more than 70 cities internationally. This year, the chic picnic comes together on August 16 at a iconic public space in the city, to be revealed. It brings together a fanfare experience full of beauty and elegance. 2451 Benjamin Franklin Parkway

On the parkway for just a few more weeks, this summer pop-up park has it all. There’s plenty to do for all ages with games, yummy food trucks, arts & culture, a sandbox, wellness events, and so much more. Grab some lawn chairs and watch your favorite movie under the stars with Food + Flicks Fridays. Hurry to make the best of The Oval’s amazing space before the pop-up closes on August 19.

Center City Sips
Multiple locations

Change up your post-work happy hour every Wednesday until August 29 with Center City District’s Sips. From 5 – 7 p.m., enjoy $4 beers, $5 wines, $6 cocktails, and half-priced appetizers at over 90 bars and restaurants in the Center City area. Check out our guide to see what’s new this year.

Made in America Festival
Benjamin Franklin Parkway

This coming Labor Day Weekend, Jay Z’s Made in America Festival returns to the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. There is no better way to celebrate the holiday than jamming out to great music in the heart of the CIty of Brotherly Love. With headliners like Nicki Minaj, Post Malone, and Philly native, Meek Mill, you and your friends are guaranteed to have an unforgettable time.

Photo Pop Philly*

Head to Photo Pop Philly for the quintessential summer backdrops that are amazingly Insta-worthy. With a theme of red, white, and blue, the interactive art exhibit is home to five unique rooms. Each one has a special theme and hosts many popular Philly-based street artists. Pose in front of These Pink Lips’ empowering mural or have a dance party in the Red Balloons vault. Hurry, before the space closes on September 3!

Blue Cross RiverRink Summerfest
101 S. Christopher Columbus Boulevard

Philadelphia’s only outdoor roller-skating rink is back for its 4th season. But there’s much more to Summerfest than that! Bring a date or the family for a night of games, mini-golf, rides, and concessions. Enjoy all of these fun activities with great views of the Delaware River until September 3.

Parks on Tap
Multiple locations

From now until September 30, Parks on Tap will be migrating to a different park every Thursday from 4 – 8 p.m. Dickinson Square, Lemon Hill, and Penn Treaty Park are some of the stops left for this traveling beer garden through the season. Don’t miss the Barks on Tap occurring simultaneously at special locations with dog parks. Proceeds from these events benefit the dog runs and organizations for our furry friends.

Spruce Street Harbor Park
Christopher Columbus Boulevard at Spruce Street

This summertime pop-up has become a city staple. Escape the city for a moment on hammocks underneath the colorful glowing lights or big rope nets on the barge. With food vendors, live music, giant games, and more, Spruce Street Harbor Park is the perfect place to bring your date or spend a chill night out with your friends until September 30.

Philadelphia Phillies Game
1 Citizens Bank Way

Gear up in red and white to cheer on the fightin’ Phils at a home game. Head over to Citizens Bank Park with your friends and grab a hot dog or Chickie and Pete’s famous crab fries. The regular season ends with a Fan Appreciation Day on Sunday, September 30.
