Happy 125th Birthday, Reading Terminal Market!

Center City will be buzzing Thursday, February 22 as America’s most famous and historic indoor farmers’ market, the Reading Terminal Market (RTM) celebrates their 125th birthday! There is always something to do, see, and taste in the Market. From its locally sourced products to its various restaurants, Reading Terminal Market is a must-have to-do on everyone’s Philly bucket list! Fans from near and far are invited to celebrate this milestone through a number of festivities, programs and special guests.

 

Kick-Off Event

Guests will be transported back into time on February 22 for ‘1893 Day.’ Take a blast to the past and enjoy Victorian decor, costumes, penny-farthing riders, and the best part, 1893 merchant prices in honor of the Market’s official birthday. Guests will include Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney and PA Governor Tom Wolf, who will share proclamations. PECO Crown Lights will shine special birthday messages amongst the city skyline.

Philadelphia’s Hottest Party of the Winter

As we all know, it wouldn’t be a celebration without a big party! Experience Reading Terminal Market after-hours at Party for the Market on February 24. The Celebration Continues

The party continues throughout the year with public events planned, including Diamond Day in June and A Taste of the Market in September. There will also be plenty of fun, interactive series. They’ll feature live performances with representation from the past 12 decades, a speaker series featuring food and civic engagement leaders, and more!
