Monday, February 19- Happy President’s Day!

  • President’s Day at the National Constitution Center will have a variety of special family-friendly programs and activities including games, arts and crafts, and interactive shows, plus some special visitors from past President’s. Admission is free!
  • Celebrate President’s Day at the National Museum of American Jewish HIstory. Experience this family-fun day and learn the impact of the president’s impact on American history!
  • Philadelphia Fashion Week begins today. Fashion shows, meet and greets, and exclusive after parties are sure to make this an eventful week!

  • CultureWorks Greater Philadelphia, Leeway Foundation, and Vision Driven Artists have teamed up to bring you Understanding Taxes for Artists. Tax consultant Christianne Kapps will offer instruction and advice to alleviate tax season fears for artists, sole-proprietors, and small businesses. Register here!
  • A part of Reading Terminal Market’s 125th Birthday Celebration, “1893 Day” will transport guests back to the day Reading Terminal Market opened. With Victorian decor, period costumes, and special proclamations from Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf and Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney this will be a celebration to remember for ages!
  • Macy’s Black History Month – Highlighting Innovators, Trailblazers and Visionaries starts at 5:30 p.m. Head down to the store to enjoy live music, paining and light refreshments. The first 150 guests to check in at the event will receive a Macy’s promotional gift card!

Friday, February 23

  • Prometheus Chamber Orchestra present Illumine, featuring Rebecca Myers, soprano. The show begins at 8 p.m.
  • Mardi Gras Dance Party will take place starting at Commodore Barry Club starting at 6:30 p.m. Wear your best Mardi Gras attire (optional) and enjoy live cajun music straight from Louisiana!

Saturday, February 24

  • Reading Terminal Market’s celebration continues with the 8th Annual Party for the Market. The party will feature four live banns, amazing silent auction items, plus a dance floor cocktail lounge and so much more!
  • Penn Museum’s 28th Annual Celebration of African Cultures begins at 11 a.m. Throughout the day, learn about African Culture through storytelling, a drumming workshop, arts, crafts. General admission is free.
  • Shen Yun 2018 begins today and goes through March. This spectacular performance will transport you to a new world through cutting-edge innovation and timeless artistry of Chinese culture. Don’t miss this event that can’t be seen anywhere else in the world!

Sunday, February 25

  • An Exploration Through The Chakras at TORC Yoga* starts at 2 p.m. This workshop is for those new to learn about chakras, or for those looking to deepen their understanding, through breathwork and mediations it’s sure to be a zen day.
  • Sample delicious wedding cakes from some of the area’s best pastry chefs as well as life music and wine tasting at Let Them Eat Cake – In the Jungle. All proceeds benefit Variety, the Children’s Charity to improve the quality of life for children with special needs.
  • 2018 is the Year of the Dog according to Chinese zodiac. Celebrate with the FREE Chinese New Year Community Gala! This is a great opportunity for family fun and experience China culture.
