My Perfect Day in Philadelphia: Audrey’s Guide

Audrey Innerst, PR Assistant:

I grew up in a small town outside of Harrisburg called Etters, and now I am going into my senior year at Kutztown University. Though, I’ve always dreamed about being a city girl. Interning at Philly PR Girl has been the perfect opportunity for me, not only to gain professional experience, but to prove to myself that a small town girl like me is capable of competing in the big city.

Morning Views

It doesn’t get much better than a morning jog along the Schuylkill River to get my day started. For me, it’s the perfect way to wake up. I can clear my head and prepare for what the day has in store. At that hour, it’s (semi) quiet and utterly beautiful, if I can get there early enough.

Coffee (and Oftentime, Pastries)

One of my favorite places to stop on my way home is Metropolitan Bakery. I always tell myself to just grab a coffee but somehow I end up with a danish in my hand. It’s too tempting! They are baked fresh every morning and make the shop smell ah-mazing. If I can resist the mixed berry cheese danish, you will find me at Bluestone Lane with a breakfast bowl.

Philadelphia Museum of Art

My uncle is an artist, and introduced my siblings and I to the art world at a young age. The Art Museum constantly has new exhibits, and I learn something new every time I go. Right now, they have a Marcel Duchamp exhibit that I’m excited to see. It’s also beautifully decorated during the holidays!

Rooftop R&R

After a long day of walking I always retreat to my roof deck, which is my perfect oasis. I’m turning into quite the bookworm these days, so you can always catch me on the roof with a novel in hand. Typical, I know, but I can always get wrapped up in a Nicholas Sparks novel. It’s also the best place to sneak away with some Ben & Jerry’s 🙂

City Dining in Rittenhouse Square

One thing I love about the city is that there’s always something new to try. I love dining outside on a summer night, and my go-tos are always Pietros or Barbuzzo. They both have a great atmosphere and the best pastas and pizzas! To end my perfect day in Philadelphia, I love to sit at Rittenhouse Park. It’s even more beautiful and romantic at night, especially with the lights and couples slow dancing without a care in the world.

These are just a few of my favorite things to do in the city, but I have plenty more check off my list! Follow along with me on instagram, @AudreyInnerst, to keep up with what the city has in store for me next!

Stay tuned to see what how our other team members would spend their ideal day in Philadelphia!
