  • Sit down, it’s story time. First Person Arts StorySlam is a five-minute storytelling competition. This month’s theme of Battle Scars is dedicated to all the scrapes, cuts, and dents that often give us the best stories.
  • Need some help in the kitchen? The staff at Kensington Quarters can help. Their Butcher Class offers a night of hands-on practice, from recipe development to proper technique.

  • Streets Dept has partnered with Visit Philly to present Revolutionary: A Pop-Up Street Art Exhibition. In celebration of the original 13 colonies, the art exhibit will feature 13 contemporary Philly-based artists. Keep a look out for the free art pieces can be spotted in Spruce Street Harbor Park, National Museum of the American Jewish History, FringeArts, Franklin Square, and many more locations.
  • Attention all girl bosses, come meet and mingle with the women of Prestige. Women Wine and Wealth is a networking event to help female entrepreneurs build their businesses.

Saturday, May 27

  • No surprise, The National Constitution Center is hosting Memorial Day events all weekend long. The weekend long tribute features flag ceremonies, festive workshops, memorials, and much more!
  • Festivities continue at Independence National Historical Park. Take a trip back in time to the American Revolution. Avoid holiday traffic, visitors are encouraged to use the PHLASH Downtown Loop as they travel to all the city’s historical sites.
  • Longwood Gardens of Greater Philadelphia is celebrating the return of the Main Fountain Garden. The Summer of Spectacle fountain shows will continue until September 30.
  • The Philly POPS and Mann Center for the Performing Arts present the second annual Memorial Salute Concert. Be a part of the free community concert honoring all who have served this country. Special seats are available for veterans, active military, Philadelphia police, and firefighters.
  • In celebration of all things Philly, Festival Pier hosts the first-ever HoagieNation Festival with Hall & Oates. The hoagie inspired festival is full of local flavors: amazing local artists and Philly foodie favorites.

Sunday, May 28

  • Penn’s Landing Waterfront Day is a can’t-miss celebration of the holiday weekend! Join the free rooftop party on the Spirit of Philadelphia. The boat will be docked so partiers are free to come and go as they please. Enjoy giant jenga, shuffleboard, foosball, and a live DJ.
