Cirque du Soleil’s TORUK Takes Flight in Philadelphia

South Philly transforms into the world Pandora from March 8 to March 12, 2017 at the Wells Fargo Center. Cirque du Soleil’s TORUK: The First Flight is inspired by the Academy Award-winning film Avatar by James Cameron. The show tells of an odyssey through a new world of discovery.

The visually stunning live set uses cutting-edge visuals, puppetry and stagecraft to unfold the story. Paired with the signature style of Cirque du Soleil’s acrobatics and  cinematic score, the performance truly brings the imagination to life.

TORUK begins with a narration by a “Na’vi Storyteller,” set thousands of years before the film Avatar and way before any humans ever set foot on this land. The audience is introduced to the main characters, Ralu and Entu, from the Omatikaya clan. A series of dramatic events unfolds, leading these two friends on an epic journey through Pandora.

The duo first travel through the bioluminescent forest and meet a new companion, Tsyal of the Tawkami clan, to join their mission. After trekking across a river and through the desert, the three friends approach the esoteric lands of the Anurai and Tipani clans. The last and most generous clan, Kekunan, brings them to Floating Mountains and one step closer to completing their mission. To find out what happens next… you’ll have to see for yourself!

While the majority of the performance is Naʼvi language, not English, the storytelling is not lost one bit. Instead, TORUK expands the crowd’s imagination tenfold. This extraordinary fantasy is a must-see for audiences of all ages. Get your tickets now!
