Upcoming Kimmel Center Shows: January & February

The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts presents an exciting variety of new events this year. From improv comedy shows to Broadway specials, the entertainment options in Center City are abundant for all audiences to enjoy. We put together a list of upcoming must-see shows in January and February.

 

Cirque Eloize: Saloon

On January 13 and 14, the Cirque Éloize: Saloon will tell a story inspired by the legacy of the Wild Wild West. Audiences can experience a night of unique acrobatic comedy performed by a motley cast of individuals who have a story to tell.

 

Broadway Up Close: Vanessa Williams


Tony-nominated Vanessa Williams will perform, along with host Seth Rudetsky, on January 21 as part of the Kimmel Center’s Broadway up close series. Williams is an actress and singer who is known for her television role in Ugly Betty and Desperate Housewives. Audiences can enjoy a night of behind-the-scenes stories from the “Colors of the Wind” singer. All Level 1 tickets include a VIP Meet and Greet with the artist.

 

The Second City Live: We’re All In This Room Together

Don’t miss a unique show coming to town on February 3 and 4. Laugh out loud to improvised comedy, of-the-moment sketches, and songs from The Second City. This comedy theater group has hosted some of the best comedians such as Tina Fey, Stephen Colbert, Steve Carell, Amy Poehler, Bill Murray, and many more.

 

iLuminate

America’s Got Talent contestant, iLuminate, will dance in their electrified glow-in-the-dark suits as they perform dynamic routines and illusions. Against a darkened stage, this group’s visual experience of technology and dance will wow from February 10 to 11.

 

The Bodyguard: Starring Deborah Cox

Grammy-nominee Deborah Cox plays Rachel Marron in Whitney Houston’s iconic role of The Bodyguard. Attendees will experience a romantic thriller that features classic songs, such as “Queen of the Night”, “So Emotional”, “One Moment in Time”, “Saving All My Love”, “Run to You”, “I Have Nothing”, “I Wanna Dance with Somebody,” and one of the biggest selling songs of all time, “I Will Always Love You.”
