  • Explore the history of the Black Lives Matter movement, as well as past civil rights movements, at the National Constitution Center’s “Black Lives Matter: The Next Civil Rights Movement?”  The evening’s panel of cultural experts include Harvard professor Randall Kennedy, Bennett College’s president emerita Dr. Julianne Malveaux, and Errin Haines Whack, urban affairs reporter for the Associated Press.

Tuesday, December 6

  • Enjoy a classy evening with your besties on the Main Line at Avenue Kitchen’s Girls Night Out. This event is FREE with an RSVP. Meet a community of women that is focused is on building a strong and diverse network of women, from new moms to entrepreneurs.
  • Laugh your heart out at Soul Joel Presents: Knockout Comedy at Punch Line Philly. The show will be hosted by Mark Riccadonna with hilarious headliner and former Miss NJ, Dena Blizzard, and featuring Missy Grynkiewic, Jackie Byrne, and Mary Radzinski. Doors open at 7:30 p.m.

Wednesday, December 7

  • Watch the world premiere of Parsons Dance, presented by NextMove Dance. Choreographed by David Parsons, this innovative show integrates robotics and dancers in a work being developed in conjunction with ExCITe Center at Drexel University. Plus, get guests have the opportunity to attend a post-performance Q&A to meet the company and get the scoop on the creative process.
  • Channel your inner Bear Grylls as you witness Paul Rosolie’s intense stories from around the world. Sponsored by the Geographical Society of Philadelphia, Paul will showcase  footage from his dangerous adventures and recount the devastating realities of overlapping habitats of the human and animal worlds. Some current work includes documenting the migration of elephants and endangered tigers through the overcrowded villages of southern India.

Thursday, December 8

  • Chloe Johnston Experiences* and Marsha Brown are excited to present: A Classic Vintage Holiday fundraising sale in New Hope, PA. Starting at 6 p.m with a complimentary cocktail hour, the fun and fashionable evening will feature a live auction and sale of CJE’s collection of vintage and designer clothing and accessories. This charity event benefits Devereux Foundation, a national organization that serves more than 3,800 children and adults in therapeutic foster care, community-based behavioral health, and more.
  • The Kimmel Center presents A Well-Strung Christmas, a boy band version of a classical string quartet. From Taylor Swift to Beethoven, this group will bring the fun to the Perelman Theater with their funky fusion style.

  • The Maker’s Mark is celebrating the holidays with its second #ShareDelicious Holiday Tour. Saturday, December 10

  • For its 10 year, DVLF* is moving its annual TOY event to a brand new hot location: Top of the Tower. With a ticket, plus one unwrapped toy donation, you can help support the children at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and those served by Action Wellness. The event will feature delicious hors d’oeuvres and a full open bar. P.S. The official after party is at Boxers (1330 Walnut Street).
  • Join the most festively fun run of the year! The Manayunk Development Corporation will be handing out red noses and jingle bells for all Rudolph Run participants, but guests are encouraged to come in holiday attire. Head to the Manayunk Canal Path in your best ugly Christmas sweaters, antlers, and sparkles. In the holiday spirit, canned goods and other necessities will be collected as donations/entry fee.
  • Watch East Passyunk Avenue transform into Arctic Ave for the holiday. The avenue will become an icy winter wonderland with live ice carving, beautiful ice sculptures, live music, shopping specials along the avenue, and more.
