Happy Halloween! Start your week with some spooky and festive events and continue celebrating all that fall has to offer in Philadelphia as November begins.

Monday, October 31st

  • Dress in costume for the Science After Hours: Creatures of the Night event There will be a costume contest, a dance party and of course, some spooky science.
  • Eleven distilleries in Philadelphia continue running specials for Philly Craft Spirits Week. Throughout the week, exciting drinking events will take place around the city for you to discover local spirits in fun ways.
  • Make your way to The Fillmore as it celebrates Halloween and its one year anniversary with a roller skate party, Make America Skate Again. In addition to roller skating, there will be DJs and drink specials to keep you moving and grooving.

 

Tuesday, November 1st

  • Celebrate the Day of the Dead at The Sanctuary. Lisa Miliaresis, psychic medium, and Tricia Heiser, founder of the Sanctuary, will remember and pray for those who have passed with a unique yoga experience.
  • Gather at the Grey Lodge for Petty’s Island Rum Dinner, one of the events to continue Philly Craft Spirits Week. Sample Cooper River Distillers while enjoying creative grub from the restaurant’s kitchen.

 

Wednesday, November 2nd

  • Join DVLF* for their monthly Our Night Out event at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. See the museum’s amazing collection of 19th and 20th century paintings while mingling with LGBTQ professionals in the area.
  • If you’re a gamer who enjoys a good cocktail, head to Barcade in Fishtown for the Barcade Spirits Collaboration. New Liberty Distilling and Rowhouse Spirits are teaming up to create a variety of mixes to sip on while rocking out to your favorite arcade games.

 

Thursday, November 3rd

  • Get ready for Bark & Whine event at the Horticulture Center in Fairmount Park. The SPCA’s annual event has raised nearly $2 million to benefit the animals and honors animal advocates around the city. There will be a live auction, cocktails, and most importantly, adoptable animals!
  • Learn how to make some crafty cocktails at the Cocktail Class at Twisted Tail. The event will feature whiskey from local distilleries: Dad’s Hat Rye, Manatawny Still Works, and Red Brick Distillery. You’ll get the chance to become a mixmaster and make and enjoy three of your special cocktails.

 

Friday, November 4th

  • Get the chance to meet Olympic gymnasts at the Kellogg’s Tour Of Gymnastics Champions at the Wells Fargo Center. See world champions; Simone Biles, Gabby Douglas and Aly Raisman perform their best routines.
  • Visit one of the best bars in Kensington, Martha, for the closing party of Philly Craft Spirits Week. The event will be a great wrap-up to the week, so bring your friends for a night of celebrating with some of the top spirits in the area.

 

Saturday, November 5th

  • Check out The Great Harvest Cider and Beer Festival that’s taking over South 11th Street at Hawthorne’s Beer Cafe. There will be pumpkin ales, live bands, and delicious eats as well as fun, fall activities for the kids.
  • Come to the Yards Brewing Co. Brawlerfest, the first old school beer & musical festival in Philadelphia. It will be a day of brews, games, and bites from some of the best food trucks. The event will benefit XPN’s Musicians on Call and Beat the Streets Wrestling.
  • Don’t miss the 2016 Philly Fall Crawl, starting at the Irish Pub at 20th & Walnut from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Tickets include free entry at all bars, beer/liquor specials, food discounts, and special Philly Fall Crawl photo opps along the way.
  • Take the trip to Peddler’s Village for the return of their annual event, the Apple Festival on Saturday and Sunday. You’ll get to enjoy everything apple! There will be apple pie-eating contests, apple snacks and treats, and apple crafts for the kids.

 

Sunday, November 6th

  • Calling all bacon lovers! The Bacon and Beer Festival is back for its fourth year at the 23rd Street Armory. There will be big-league bacon bites from local restaurants and fall drafts fitting for the season. All proceeds will benefit the local non-profit, MANNA.
  • Enjoy the 2nd Annual Philadelphia Veterans Parade in Center City at 16th and JFK Boulevard at noon this Sunday. The parade will honor all of the men and women who have served for our country. During the parade, there will also be a Veterans Outreach & Festival with fun events for families.
  • Check out the Clover Market, coming to Bryn Mawr this Sunday. Shop for jewelry, clothing and household items while listening to live music and dining on some great bites from local food trucks!
