“From the little victories to the big milestones, even some of these trying times we face, you just have to appreciate what you have, as nice things.” – Chill Moody

West Philly native and rapper Chill Moody teamed up with the neighborhood’s Dock Street Brewery to create the new nicethings IPA. On August 9th, Dock Street Brewery hosted a special tasting event to vote for the beer’s final flavors. The three tastings were between lemon thyme, pineapple, and mango flavors.

Kicking off at 4pm, guests sampled all nicethings IPAs to try side by side. After tasting each brew, they were encouraged to cast a vote for their favorite flavor. The one with the most votes will be the official nicethings IPA – made by the people. Our favorite is the pineapple flavor, with a balanced and refreshing sweetness to the IPA’s Mosaic hops. But we’ve heard that it could be a combination of some flavors…. Shhh!

In just 2 hours, all flavors were sold out! The brewery was packed full of familiar faces. You could feel the love and support of the local community in the room. Chill Moody interrupted the party for a live cameo performance. He even gave a shout out to Philly PR Girl!

Don’t miss the final nicethings IPA debut in September as a sendoff for Chill Moody before he takes the stage at the Roots Picnic in New York City! Chill Moody was the very first performer announced for the lineup, and he is excited to take this awesome hometown music event to the Big Apple. Tickets are still available to see his electric performance. Afterwards, nicethings IPA will continue to be poured exclusively at Dock Street Brewery and select music venues.
