Monday, August 8

  • Join DVLF* for their monthly Our Night Out. This month’s night out will be held at The Logan hotel.
  • Multi-talented Juliette Lewis returns on a US tour with The New Regime with a stop at Union Transfer at 8:30pm. Aside from Oscar-nominated performances on the silver screen, Lewis brings raw, high-energy performances to the music stage.

Tuesday, August 9

  • Sparklers and hydrogen balloons? Liquid nitrogen and soap? Have no fear, Science After Hours: Don’t Try This at Home has stocked up on plenty safety goggles for our most explosive night yet. Join in on the danger toimplode, blow up, and shock the night away.
  • Join teacher Ella Cuda for Yoga on the Terrace at the Free Library Parkway Central. With a clear view of the Philly skyline, Ella will lead you through an invigorating vinyasa class followed by a poetry reading during savasana. A portion of the proceeds from this class benefit the Free Library.

Wednesday, August 10

  • Escape the daily grind and join PMG for their August Garden Sips, apart of their  happy hour series.  Enter their unique art space and enjoy sweet tunes, refreshing drinks, yummy eats, and throwback crafts.
  • Join this August’s Greensgrow Farm Dinner for a very special 4 course farm-to-table dinner featuring all locally-sourced produce and naturally-raised proteins from small farmers.

Thursday, August 11

  • Philadelphia Eagles take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during the first preseason home game!
  • The Franklin Institute hosts its monthly Night Skies in the Observatory. View celestial objects in the night sky from 5 different rooftop telescopes in the Observatory. If conditions are right, this could include stars, planets, nebulae, and a galaxy or two!
  • Support local arts at Unlisted at Icebox Project Space in Northern Liberties. Look between 13 spaces arranged by Philadelphia-based curators, gallerists and artists. The opening reception starts at 6pm.

Friday, August 12

  • Join Philadelphia Museum of Art for Art After 5, featuring Thana Alexa. Enjoy a unique blend of entertainment from 5 – 8:45 p.m. in the Great Stair Hall. Discover an eclectic mix of international music, dance, and recognized and emerging jazz artists.  
  • Finally! Blink 182 is back together and performing live at the BB&T Pavilion. Tickets are still on sale.

Saturday, August 13

  • Join the Philly Mojito March and enjoy up to eight mojitos selected by the Lead Bartender or Bar Manager at some of Philly’s best venues included in their ticket price. In addition, venues will offer specials on food, beer and mojitos to participants. A portion of ALL proceeds will go to non-profit and charitable organizations.
  • Celebrate National Peach Month in August at the Peddler’s Village Peach Festival and Summer Sidewalk Sale. It’s a peach-lover’s paradise all weekend with plenty of peachy treats, peach pie eating contests, sizzling shopping deals and live musical entertainment.
  • Kensington Community Food Co-op hosts the 2nd of 5 Kensington Gardens pop-up beer garden events bringing together Philly’s vibrant River Wards community. Come for local beer pours and tasty food trucks. Proceeds benefit Kensington Community Food Co-op, a member-owned grocery store coming soon.
  • Bug Fest, the annual festival that celebrates insects of all kinds at the Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University. With hundreds of live critters, roach races, bug walks, and even insect-tasting, there will be lots of wiggling around the museum during this popular family event.

Sunday, August 14

  • It’s the last day to enjoy the Art Alliance’s Indian Art and Craft Pop-up Shop. Come by the PAA to see silk scarves, gorgeous saris, hand-painted textiles, ceramics, bronze sculpture, jewelry, and more.
  • Break out your captain’s hat for  Yacht Rock Sundays at Morgan’s Pier. This laid back alternative to Sunday Funday transports guests to a 70’s yacht rock party backed by cruisin’ tunes of daytime disco and tiki torch vibes.
  • KIDS Summer Music Series is at Triangales at Grays Ferry. Enjoy live music and food at this kids friendly event!
