Tuesday, May 24

  • Calling all jazz lovers! If you haven’t been paying attention to the Jazz It Up Philly lineup, what are you waiting for? Tuesday night, Frankie Velardo Rhythm & Blues Band takes the stage at Vesper, Center City’s dining club. Grab your seat for the 7:30 show!
  • The Corzo Center for the Creative Economy presents a program workshop focused on the ability to Display & Sell Your Work. Independent craft makers will learn how to create engaging visual displays that will that will increase traffic and sales during this event at the Free Library.

Wednesday, May 25

  • Uptown Beer Garden is officially open for the season! Helmed by Chef Jonathan Petruce (Petruce et al, Fish), the space will be serving up tasty-looking skewers, sandwiches, snacks and sides during happy hour. Reserve your ticket for their 5 o’clock opening and enjoy free bites!

Thursday, May 26

  • Think you’re obsessed with guacamole? MANNA invites you to taste-test guac crafted by 12 different restaurants at Morgan’s pier for their annual Guac Off! Must be 18 to enter and 21 to drink! Chips are on them.

Friday, May 27

  • Philadelphia’s most famous prison recently launched its latest exhibit, “Prisons Today: Questions in the Age of Mass Incarceration.” Admission is included with regular ticket sales to the Eastern State Penitentiary tours.

Saturday, May 28

  • Celebrate the unofficial start of summer at Chaddsford Winery. There will be back-to-back bands and award-winning wine all during their Memorial Day Music Festival! Festivities are set to take place between the 28th and 30th. Admission is $10-15.
  • The Walnut Street theatre brings the joy of the smash favorite movie Sister Act to the mainstage! When wannabe disco diva Deloris Van Cartier witnesses a crime, the cops hide her in the last place anyone would think to look: a convent. Don’t expect to sit down during this show-stopping performance!

Sunday, May 29

  • The HYPE! celebrates the (unofficial) first weekend of summer with a killer lineup downstairs at the World Cafe Live. Gear up for the ‘Show Me your Soul Festival‘, featuring 14 acts. Doors open at 2 p.m. and the show begins at 3!
  • The Constitution Center is the place to be this Memorial Day weekend! Take part in all of the special programming and events going on. This includes patriotic shows, flag workshops, 18th century games, thank-a-vet postcards, and flag ceremonies. Bring the family!
