Monday, January 11

  • If you’re in the restaurant industry, you have to go to In The Biz Night at the Rothman Ice Rink at Dilworth Park! Connect and network with fellow servers, chefs, and bartenders before the crazy busy days and nights of Restaurant Week. Admission is free with skate rentals and starts at 7:00 p.m.
  • Mondays are rough, so make it better by going to the Hard Rock Café at 8 p.m. for Monday Soul Sessions! Enjoy a delicious dinner while listening to soul and R&B while waiting for some special guests. And who knows? Maybe you’ll be the audience member they choose to go on stage!

 

Tuesday, January 12

  • Network for a cause at Zavino University City and help raise funds for Adopt A Pig. This program benefits children and their families cope as they fight cancer. Meet business professionals from around the city while helping the community. Tickets are $30, and you can register here!
  • See Philadelphia like never before at Liberty 360 inside the new Historic Philadelphia Center. The 360-degree, 3-D panoramic experience gives you a show about freedom and the exploration of our incredible city. To make it better, tickets are only $6!

 

Wednesday, January 13

  • We all know and love Center City Sips, but that doesn’t only happen in the summer. Every Wednesday in January and February, Rothman Ice Rink at Dilworth Park holds Center City Sips and Skate! From 5 to 9 p.m., enjoy drink specials from $3 to $5 and 10% off food in the Rothman Cabin while skating laps around the rink!
  • Ever wish to see what the winter night sky looks like up close? You can when you go to The Franklin Institute for Night Skies in the Observatory! Look into state of the art telescopes to see stars and planets at this monthly event. Start stargazing at 6 p.m.
  • Cheer on our Philadelphia Flyers as they take on the Boston Bruins at the Wells Fargo Center at 8 p.m. This NHL matchup is one Philly fans will not want to miss!

 

Thursday, January 14

  • There’s another amazing opportunity at The Franklin Institute this week. From 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., go to an innovative 3D printing workshop to learn how to turn designs into physical pieces! You can bring your own laptop or rent one for $20.
  • Who doesn’t love a comedy show? Especially when it involves Todd Glass from Tosh.0, Last Comic Standing, and Conan. He’s taking his hilarious podcast and turning it into a half-hour comedy special live at Helium Comedy Club! You must be 21 or older, or 18 with a parent/guardian. Tickets are available at the box office two hours before the show, which starts at 8 p.m. The show is running until January 17.
  • The popular dancing competition show is coming to the Tower Theatre! Dancing with the Stars: Live! begins at 8:00 p.m., so get your tickets to see the best professional dancers and celebrities you’ve been watching on the small screen!

 

Friday, January 15

  • Big Philly Beerfest is here! On Friday and Saturday, sample an unlimited amount of brews all while raising money for the Animal Rescue Partners. Breweries from around the entire region will be here for tastings of over 300 beers. You can’t miss this, so get your tickets here!
  • Laugh your entire Friday night at a comedy show including FIVE hilarious comedians! Cedric the Entertainer, Eddie Griffin, D.L. Hughley, George Lopez, and Charlie Murphy will be at The Liacouras Center for The Comedy Get Down Tour. These tickets will probably go fast, so buy them now!

 

Saturday, January 16

  • It’s finally that time of year again. One of the BEST Philly events of the year, Hair O’ The Dog, is back! Sponsored by SugarHouse Casino, this party will be benefiting Penn State’s Dance Marathon, Thon. Come join all of the fun, dancing, and networking, and buy your ticket before it’s too late!
  • Front Street Café in Northern Liberties is now open! Spend your Saturday night at one of their many grand opening events with guest Philly Music Lab, and fire performances by Lux Arati. Happy hour specials begin at 6:00 p.m., and the party goes until 2 a.m.
  • Go to your local Lord & Taylor store for discounts right at the door if you get involved in the Charity Day! Participate in fun activities to help you with your “new year, new you” resolutions. This event is benefitting the Look Good Feel Better organization, which helps those with cancer deal with their disease and the appearance that may come with it. Great charity, great event, great discounts!

 

Sunday, January 17

  • It’s the week we’ve all been impatiently waiting for: Center City Restaurant Week! Until January 22, go out with girlfriends, coworkers, or your special someone and enjoy a prix fixe, three-course meal for only $35! Find out which restaurants are participating here and make sure you make your reservations fast.
  • Looking for an opportunity to volunteer? Assist in feeding struggling families in the greater Philadelphia area at the Jewish Relief Agency Food Distribution. Help the company reach their goal of providing food for over 3,000 families. Times are flexible, and helpers of all ages are welcome!
