Visit The Kimmel Center This Holiday Season

Kimmel Center Holidays

What are the holidays without some holiday fun? More specifically, good, old-fashioned holiday performances that the whole family can enjoy? Well, we have your one stop shop for all of that and more, and the best part? Most of their events are FREE. Talk about a great holiday gift!

This holiday season, the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts has all of Philadelphia’s favorites for your holidays with free programming, special events, holiday activities, and more. Some of these free events are Christmas Posada, as part of the Philly ¡En Vivo! series, Tuba Christmas, and festivities on Commonwealth Plaza like photos with Santa every Saturday from noon until 2:00 p.m. (December 5, 12, and 19), plus the Kimmel Center’s annual New Year’s Day celebration, and much more for visitors of all ages.

“Throughout the month of December we will be presenting free, family-friendly offerings featuring new and returning favorites,” said Anne Ewers, President & CEO of the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. “We make strides all year to open the doors of the Kimmel Center campus to our entire community yet the holidays give us the greatest opportunity to make any visit a truly magical experience through the gift of the arts.”

One of the most popular events at the Kimmel Center is the Philly POPS of course! Experience the true magic of the season with Philadelphia’s most treasured holiday musical tradition. Join the Philly POPS and internationally celebrated conductor David Charles Abell, for an all-new program of Christmas classics. Some of the special guests include guest vocalist Lisa Vroman, renowned for her role as Christine in Broadway’s Phantom, Peter Richard Conte, organist, The Philly POPS Festival Chorus, Philadelphia Boys Choir, and the African Episcopal Church of St. Thomas Gospel Choir! Come see the Philly POPS Christmas Spectacular from December 18- 22.
