Monday, October 12

  • NAVEDA Couture* welcomes members of the press to an exclusive preview of the NAVEDA Fall 2015 / Winter 2016 line at The Granary Apartments from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Please be aware that this event is invite-only for press, but if you are interested in attending please email Lindsey@phillyprgirl.com.

Tuesday, October 13

  • Free Fitness Philly takes place every Tuesday in Sister Cities Park! Their goal is to make fitness a habit that you won’t want to break. These superior classes are facilitated by licensed fitness trainers.
  • Chloe Johnston Experiences* will be hosting a vintage trunk show! Be a part of Philadelphia’s weeklong fashion stretch as boutiques, designers, stylists and the city enjoy The Philadelphia Collection. This year they are partnering with the ladies of ellelauri in Rittenhouse for a mini runway show, unlimited fall fashion, vintage jewelry, and handmade leather bags perfect for the coming cold weather. Entrance to the partnered event is free, and Chloe Johnston and ellelauri will have all inventory for sale for the entirety of the evening.

Wednesday, October 14

  • Celebrate The Philadelphia Collection 2015 at the historic Headhouse Square at “Fashion Under the Shambles.” This visually tantalizing showcase will celebrate the best of local Philly fashion with an exciting collaboration between some of the most innovative and creative boutiques and salons in the South Street Headhouse District. Experience an evening of cutting-edge street style. Event starts at 6 p.m. – make sure you dress to impress!
  • The evenings are getting a bit cooler, but until the weather turns completely cold, La Peg is hosting their Movie Under the Stars series. Grab a blanket for this screening of films outside with the Ben Franklin Bridge as a backdrop. Wednesday’s movie? Jackie Brown, beginning at 8:30 p.m.

Thursday, October 15

  • The 2015 Film Festival Kickstarter is the biggest film festival yet, happening all over the country!  For one night only, 32 theaters across the country will be screening hits from Sundance, groundbreaking animation, and one knockout documentary. The PFS Roxy Theater will hosting the event for Philadelphia! Come out to 2023 Sansom St, Philadelphia, PA to be a part of this festival. And the best part? it is all free! First screening starts at 7 p.m.
  • Keeping the theme of theater going for Thursday, the Society Hill Playhouse is hosting a free preview of their newest show, Lafferty’s Wake, a interactive musical comedy! The show starts at 8 p.m., and then it will officially open Friday, and running until December 20.

Friday, October 16

  • Enjoy Family Fun Days with Furry Friends at Sister Cities Park starting at 11 a.m.! Bring your family and pets for live music, kid and pet-friendly games, activities, and hayrides!
  • The annual blockbuster Harry Potter Festival returns to enchant Chestnut Hill this Friday, October 17, and Saturday, October 18. These two days of spellbinding events will magically morph the neighborhood into the fictional world created by author J.K. Rowling. Plus, did we mention butter beer?
  • Enjoy a fun evening at the top of the Loews Hotel with The Ambassadors of the Wistar Institute. This is a fundraiser for which proceeds will be donated to cancer research. The evening starts at 7 p.m!
  •  Heineken presents OBEY THE DJ, a special tribute to Philly DJ culture in conjunction with the unveiling
    of the new DJ Mural by Shepard Fairey on 13th St. Ugly Bass brothers Sonny James & Royale will be teaming up to take you on a musical journey through space and time. Expect anything and everything from Soulful Rhythms to Classic Party Bangers. When there’s skilled DJs at the helm, there’s no need for requests.

Saturday, October 17

  • XFINITY Live! is hosting their 4th Annual Oktoberfest, voted one of the top-10 Oktoberfest parties in the country by Draft Magazine! There will be an indoor, outdoor, and covered beer gardens, German Oktoberfest-style beer tents, food trucks, multiple musical acts, and so much more! Listen to live bands all day with unlimited sampling of 200+ great craft beers from 100+ breweries. The event runs from 2-7 p.m.
  • Help raise money for Sickle Cell disease at the Blue Tag Gala, hosted by the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. It is a glamorous evening of dinner, dancing and live music at the Hyatt at the Bellevue, beginning at 6 p.m. The gala is the largest recurring fundraiser for the Sickle Cell Center and last year raised $200,000 in support of sickle cell disease treatment, care and research for this devastating condition.

Sunday, October 18

  • Do you love biking? And do you love beer? Bikes and Beers Philadelphia is a 14 mile ride around downtown Philadelphia featuring the city’s top breweries. The ride will begin at Yards Brewery and venture off to Rembrandt’s, Dock Street Brewing and McGillin’s Ale House! A portion of proceeds from the event will go to The Bicycle Coalition of Philadelphia to help improve the cycling conditions in the city of Philadelphia.
  • Enjoy a fun and free day with the family hosted by Bartram’s Community Farm and Food Resource Center in Philadelphia. The Harvest Festival returns for it’s 4th year with farm activities for the whole family, including pumpkin carving; fishing and canoeing; hayrides; face painting; cider pressing; farm tours; and much more! This event is held in conjunction with The National Park Service’s Canoe Mobile and River Adventure Day.
  • Calling all carnivores! The Meatball Match-Up invites you to the 5th edition of the this popular meatball contest, held at the American Swedish Historical Museum. Enter your meatballs for a chance at culinary glory and see if your meatballs are the greatest of them all, or come to savor the delicious entries of area restaurants and vote for your favorite! Entrance is free with general museum admission.
