Monday, October 5

  • Here is a great event for all of those movie buffs out there! Rydal Park will be hosting a movie night  movie night, and then on Tuesday night, October 5th, Bill Wine, radio host and movie critic, will come to have a movie discussion! To go, RSVP to info@rydalpark.org.

Tuesday, October 6

  • The Forbes  Under 30 Music Festival, produced in partnership with Global Citizen, is a free-ticketed event, taking place today at the Festival Pier on Penn’s Landing. This year’s lineup is Shawn Mendes, Hanson, Lindsey Stirling and A$AP Rocky, with emcee Ronan Farrow and many surprise guests. Doors open 6 p.m.
  • Wendell Pierce, has appeared in more than 30 films, 50 television shows, and dozens of stage productions and you have the chance to meet him at the Free Library of Philadelphia! He will presenting  a memoir of his New Orleans family, history, and art, and the post-Katrina reconstruction of his Pontchartrain Park neighborhood.

Wednesday, October 7

  • Get the latest fall fashion for your wardrobe! There is a Pop-Up Shop by Jade’s Closet, from October 7 to 12 at the shops of Liberty Place.  
  • Remember when Stevie Wonder held a surprise pop-up concert here in Philly? Well, he is back! He was here to promote his tour, Songs in the Key of Life, and it brings him back to the City of Brotherly Love tonight at the Wells Fargo Center.
  • Tyler Ward, an up and coming young musician, comes to perform at World Live Cafe! Get tickets here.

Thursday, October 8

  • The Nitro Circus is coming to Philadelphia! Prepared to get get blown away by the only action sports entertainment company that delivers the biggest and best, cross platform entertainment for daredevils and risk taking wannabes in the spirit of fun, friendship and camaraderie.

Friday, October 9

  • MANNA is celebrating 25 years! Help them celebrate at the 23rd Street Armory! Their mission is to cook and deliver nutritious, medically-appropriate meals and provide nutrition counseling to neighbors who are battling life-threatening illnesses such as cancer, renal disease and HIV/AIDS.
  • Spend an evening with Melody Gardot at the Merriam Theater! The acclaimed singer returns to Philadelphia to promote her newly released fourth album, Currency of Man, which debuted at No. 1 on the US, Canadian, and Australian Jazz Charts.

Saturday, October 10

  • The 8th Annual Fishtown River City Festival is back! Celebrate fall in the Fishtown neighborhood at the scenic Penn Treaty Park on the Delaware River Waterfront. The annual neighborhood festival, presented by the Fishtown Neighbors Association, is a free celebration of local music, food and businesses in Fishtown.
  • The Indigo Ball 2015 celebrates the William Way LGBT Community Center! This meaningful and magical evening, celebrate 40 years of good work serving a vibrant and diverse community. The event takes place at the National Constitution Center, beginning at 6:30 p.m.
  • What better way to celebrate the season that with a pumpkin…5k! Of course, pumpkin spice lattes was the next thing I was going to say. And, if you had one too many already this season, you can run it off the the 5k for all fitness levels and ages! Runners are encouraged to wear a Halloween Costume!

Sunday, October 11th

  • Old City Fest is back in action! Old City Fest returns on Sunday, October 11, 2015, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., along N. 3rd Street (from Market to Race) and Arch Street (from 2nd to 4th). Celebrate art and design, fashion and food, creativity and culture, music and family fun on the streets of America’s most historic square mile.
  • Made in America is by far one of the biggest music festivals that comes to Philly, but there are also great small ones that are just as fun and you can get more up close and personal to the artists! Check out Winter Doldrums Music Festival at the World Cafe Live, which is a benefit concert for suicide prevention and awareness.
