Thursday, August 13

  • Its Navy Weekend at the Tall Ships Tavern at the Independence Seaport Museum! Today through Sunday, August 16, enjoy themed educational and family friendly activities, like human battleships and a meet and greet with Navy officials. See full details and event programming here.
  • Head to Mt. Airy for the weekly Park Before Dark series, offering food and fun every Thursday evening. This week features a Gazpacho Cook Off, beginning at 6 p.m. See more information about the Park Before Dark series here.
  • The legendary Billy Joel is making a record-breaking fourth appearance at Citizens Bank Park for an unforgettable concert. Gates open at 6:30 p.m. and the show begins at 8 p.m., and tickets can be purchased here.
  • Get ready for a yoga session like no other. Pop Up Yoga presents Flow and Glow, a pop-up yoga class at dusk with the light of the glowing Market at the Fareway fountains and glow bracelets and necklaces. The class is from 8 – 9 p.m., and tickets are $15.

Friday, August 14

  • Hawaii-based singer-songwriter and guitarist Donavon Frankenreiter is bringing his folk-infused stylings to the World Cafe Live stage. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show begins at 8 p.m., and tickets can be purchased here.
  • The next film in the Awesome Fest free outdoor film series is Deathgasm, which the festival is calling a cross between Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey and The Evil Dead. Saturday, August 15

  • The Adventure Aquarium is coming to Franklin Square! From 11 a.m. – 3 p.m., see special animal up-close and touch exhibits, interactive activities, and more. Click here for more information.
  • Its time again for Saturday Night at the Movies at Franklin Square, and this time the film is Dolphin Tale. The film is from 7 – 11 p.m., and admission is free.
  • Don’t miss the Festival of India, a celebration of India’s Independence Day and the Indian American community in the Greater Philadelphia area. From 1 – 7 p.m. at the Great Plaza at Penn’s Landing, this free festival will feature art, music, dance, cuisine, and more.
  • The Zac Brown Band is making a stop at Citizens Bank Park for their Jekyll + Hyde Tour! The Avett Brothers are a special guest, so it’s going to be an amazing show. The concert begins at 7 p.m., and tickets can be purchased here.

Sunday, August 16

  • Bike for a cause at the Actavis + Allergan CF Cycle for Life in Conshohocken. Choose from 20, 34, or 65 miles of a fully supported bike ride help the fight for a cure for cystic fibrosis. Click here to learn more, sign up, or become a volunteer!
  • Celebrate Caribbean culture at the 29th annual Philadelphia Caribbean Festival at the Great Plaza at Penn’s Landing. Enjoy family fun, food, and activities from 12 – 8 p.m., and festival proceeds go towards charitable undertakings including the Committee’s Scholarship Fund.
  • Head to Lincoln Financial Field to see the Eagles play the Indianapolis Colts! The game starts at 1 p.m., and tickets can be purchased here.
  • The ultimate summer foodie event is at Doc Magrogan’s Oyster House today from 1 – 5 p.m. The Philadelphia Craft Beer and Lobster Festival includes a delicious array of seafood dishes, 10 craft beer samples, and live music. This event also benefits the Marine Corps Law Enforcement Foundation, so you’re eating and drinking for a good cause too.
