Monday, July 27

  • Yoga on the Race Street Pier is still going strong through November 1! The free class series is held seven days a week, and today’s classes are at 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. Click here for the full schedule, and don’t forget to bring your yoga mat.
  • Good news, museum fans: The Penn Museum is dropping their general admission price to just $10 for adults, seniors, and children! The discount only lasts through August, so take advantage of it while you can. Click here to see the programming included in the general admission ticket.

Tuesday, July 28

  • Join the Independence Business Alliance (IBA) and Queers on the Avenue (QOTA) at Stogie Joe’s in South Philly for the IBA ConnX July Networking Mixer. This free event will be block party style with plenty of food and drink specials, so there’s no reason to miss this great networking opportunity! The event is from 6 – 9 p.m., and registration is strongly recommended.
  • Sample wine and summer cocktails at the Shambles at Headhouse Square in historic Society Hill for Uncorked with a Twist, Philadelphia Magazine and Fine Wine & Good Spirits’ can’t-miss summer event. The event is from 6 – 8:30 p.m., and tickets can be purchased here.

Wednesday, July 29

  • Enjoy a free, one-hour Power Yoga class at the Oval, led by Jen Wendowski of Yoga Habit. This class will leave you feeling refreshed and energized, and its perfect for beginners! The class is from 6 – 7 p.m., and make sure to bring water and your own yoga mat.
  • Join the Penn Museum for their sixth annual P.M. @ P.M. Summer Nights Concert Series, every Wednesday through September 2 from 5 – 8 p.m. in the outdoor courtyard. Thursday, July 30

  • Catch the Killers’ frontman Brandon Flowers for his solo show at the Electric Factory, with opening act Donald Cumming. His show, presented by Radio 104.5, is definitely an experience you won’t want to miss. Doors open at 8 p.m., and click here to purchase tickets.
  • Today through August 2, the BlackStar Film Festival will wow audiences with cinema focusing on work by and about people of African descent in a global context. Some films are free with RSVP and some are ticketed, and click here for complete pricing and the festival schedule.
  • Join the Mural Arts Program for a night of art activities that are fun for anyone of all age ranges and skill levels! With origami, chalk art, make-your-own kaleidoscope, and so much more, it’s sure to be the perfect outing for family fun. This event is from 6 – 8 p.m. at Eakin’s Oval.
  • Network with and enjoy the company of Philly’s best up-and-coming local leaders and professionals for Venture On, with food from local chefs and live music from local artists. The event is from 7 – 11 p.m. at Underground Arts, and RSVP here for this can’t-miss unique social networking experience.

Friday, July 31

  • UK four-piece the Vamps are hitting the Electric Factory stage for an unforgettable show. They’re taking America by storm after having five top-ten hits in the UK – after releasing their debut album only about a year ago!   • Franklin Square turn 9 years old today, and you’re invited to the celebration! Starting at 11 a.m., enjoy a variety of activities, plus cake cut by Benjamin Franklin and SquareBurger Cake Shakes.
  • “Weird Al” Yankovic is bringing his Mandatory World Tour to the Mann Center, and you won’t want to miss a “weird” second of it. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the show begins at 7:30 p.m., and tickets can be purchased here.
  • The Phillies will take on the Atlanta Braves at Citizens Bank Park at 7:05 p.m., but don’t miss the special event happening right before the game starts. Saturday, August 1

  • Head over to PPL Park for the Philadelphia Union match against the New York Red Bulls. If you love to cheer and want to root for the Union the entire game, make sure to join the Sons of Ben in the River End section! The game begins at 7 p.m., and tickets can be purchased here.

Sunday, August 2

  • The African Cultural Alliance of North America (ACANA) is hosting the African Festival, bringing together African artists, groups, and dance troupes from around to world for a day of celebration. This event is free, and is from 2 – 8 p.m. at the Great Plaza at Penn’s Landing.
