June is a month of celebrations. We celebrate the halfway mark of 2015, the end of another school year, and the beginning of another awesome summer. So what better way to blow off steam than with memorable concerts where you can watch some of your favorite artists perform live? From chart-topping artists of the 90’s to today, here are just some of the best concerts coming to Philly this month.
Belle and Sebastian
This fan favorite indie pop band found tremendous success in their musical niche during the 1990s. This summer, they’re making a comeback by going on tour in promotion of the record Girls in Peacetime Want to Dance, which was released in January 2015. Experience a performance of both new and old tracks when Belle and Sebastian play at the Tower Theatre in Upper Darby on June 9th!
Fall Out Boy and Wiz Khlifia: The Boys of Zummer Tour
Yes, you read that correctly. Still riding high off their 2013 comeback, the chart-topping band is teaming up with the rapper behind radio-friendly “Black and Yellow” and “See You Again” for one of the most talked about collaboration tours this summer. Check out headliners Fall Out Boy and Wiz Khalifa with special guest Hoodie Allen on June 10th at the Susquehanna Bank Center.
Taylor Swift
The world’s biggest pop star returns to her home state! TSwift will be performing at Lincoln Financial Field for a two-night engagement on June 12th and 13th. Sing along to every word from Taylor’s singles from 1989, including “Blank Space” and “Bad Blood.” She’ll also be bringing Shawn Mendes and Vance Joy along for the ride. We guarantee you’ll be “shaking it off” all night!
Tori Kelly
You may have never heard of Tori Kelly, but once you hear her songs, you won’t be able to get them out of your head. Tori raps, plays guitar, and gives Mariah a serious run for her money when she hits those high notes. She also supported Ed Sheeran at Madison Square Garden and Sam Smith on his In The Lonely Hour UK tour, so this artist certainly has the vote of confidence within her industry. Check her out at the Theater of the Living Arts on June 18th.
New Kids on the Block with TLC and Nelly
Welcome to The Main Event! Break out your chokers and scrunchies and re-live some of the coolest jams from the 90’s for one night. On June 19th, New Kids on the Block will be joined by Nelly and TLC on the stage of the Wells Fargo Center. Donnie Wahlberg promises, “We always have something special up our sleeves.” Get ready for one killer dance party!
Imagine Dragons
One of the most popular bands on the Billboard charts, Imagine Dragons will rock out at Wells Fargo on June 27th. The Smoke + Mirrors tour is in promotion of ID’s latest album of the same name, featuring tracks like “I Bet My Life,” “Gold,” and “Shots.” Artists Halsey and Cruisr will be joining them for a night of memorable rock. “It’s Time” for you to witness Imagine Dragons’ talent in person!
