Monday, June 8

  • Ever wished you could get behind-the-scenes access to Philly’s most iconic sites? Well, from today through Sunday, June 14 you can! The Philadelphia Open House 2015 Tour series, organized by Philadelphia Hospitality, will get you up close and personal with Philly’s architectural, historical, and cultural landmarks, museums, and private homes. Ticket costs range from $25 – $105, depending on the tour, and can be purchased here.

Tuesday, June 9

  • Get ready for the biggest party of the year at the Diner en Blanc Preview Party this Tuesday, June 9 at the Headhouse Square Shambles. The preview party will feature the annual table decorating contest with a “Philadelphia Neighborhoods” theme, live entertainment, a wine tasting by Apothic Wines, and more!   • Sample small plates from high-profile chefs from across the country and around the world at the 10th Annual Great Chefs Event, to benefit Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation and the Vetri Foundation for Children. Enjoy amazing food, live and silent auctions, raffles, and more to benefit amazing causes. The event is from 6 – 9 p.m.  at the Urban Outfitters, Inc.’s corporate campus in the Philadelphia Navy Yard. General admission tickets are $350 and after-party access tickets are $525.
  • Join the Independence Business Alliance and Women of Independence Business Alliance for their June networking social from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at the Mazzoni Center on 21 South 12th Street. This month’s social features presentations from Nurse Practitioner Caroline Cylkowski, Practice Manager Valarie Canavin, and Director of Behavioral Health Services Judy Morrissey. The social is free for IBA members and $15.00 for non-members, and click here to register. Reservations are requested, but walk-ins are welcome.

Wednesday, June 10

  • Sons of Ben: The Movie finally makes its Philadelphia premiere! Mingle with fellow soccer fans, the Sons of Ben, Philadelphia Union players, and more Philly stars when doors open at 6 p.m. for a special Yards Happy Hour, and then sit tight for the film’s premiere at 7:30 p.m.! Get your tickets for the highly anticipated red-carpet premiere here before its too late.  Movie tickets are $17, and movie premiere plus after-party tickets are $40.
  • Let your inner artist out at Sketching in the Galleries at the Philadelphia Museum of Art from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Get inspired by the artwork on view and let your imagination run wild! Paper and pencils will be provided. The event is free after museum admission, and advanced admission can be purchased here.

Thursday, June 11

  • Get ready to hear some “ideas worth spreading” at the TEDxPhiladelphia 2015 conference. The timely theme “And Justice For All” will explore access and equity and showcase great ideas for building more just cities. The #TEDxPHL15 conference is from 9 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. at the Temple Performing Arts Center at 1837 N. Broad Street. Additional tickets have been released so get them fast so you don’t miss out on what will be a truly inspiring and educational day.
  • Don’t miss the breathtaking simplicity and minimalism of Northern Lights: Scandinavian Design exhibit at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. The exhibit explores the underlying philosophies and aesthetic traits of Scandinavian design through objects in a range of materials. It is currently showing at the Perelman Building’s Collab Gallery at 2525 Pennsylvania Avenue, and is included with museum admission.
  • Grab your yoga mat and some sunscreen for a free rooftop (yes, rooftop!) 60-minute vinyasa yoga class at Whole Foods at 10 a.m. Classes are every Thursday at the 929 South Street Whole Foods Market location.

Friday, June 12

  • From June 12 – 14, don’t miss your chance to score on some beautiful artwork that won’t break your budget. InLiquid Art and Design presents Art for the Cash Poor 16, spotlighting over 100 artists’ work with a price cap of $199, with most pieces priced well under $100. Kick off the event with a preview party on Friday, June 12 from 5:30 – 9 p.m, and tickets are available here. Proceeds generated from preview party ticket sales will be evenly split between InLiquid and the AIDS fund.

  • Head down to South Philly for the Odunde Festival and the celebration of its 40th anniversary as the largest African American street festival in the country. With an eclectic mix of vendors, entertainment, and music, it is sure to be an exciting day of celebration. The festival is from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. at 23rd and South Streets.
  • The 2015 LGBT Pride Day kicks off with the annual parade, starting at 11:30 a.m. at 13th and Locust Streets. Keep the festivities going at the Pride festival at the Great Plaza at Penn’s Landing when the parade reaches the Great Plaza at approximately 1 p.m. The festival doors open at noon and the $15 cover charge gives you hours of entertainment, over 150 vendors, and amazing community groups.
  • Celebrate LGBT Pride Day in style with the IBA at its 3rd Annual IBA Sails with Pride Cruise on the exclusive private yacht, Freedom Elite. After the Pride Parade ends at Penn’s Landing, board the Freedom Elite at Lombard Circle and set sail from 3 p.m. – 5 p.m. for remarkable views of the Philadelphia skyline and so much more. Tickets are $85.00 for IBA members and $95.00 for non-members, and advanced registration is required.
